Crunchyroll, You dont have to worry about missing episodes just because you are out, plus its much nicer to use.

I've watched Toonami since way back when the block first started in '97. I'm impressed at how much it has grown over the years.

Toonami now really only serves as a gateway, people see some episodes on it, and then use the internet to find things like Funimation and Crunchyroll. I really don't use my TV anymore, everything I watch is online, most of it on here. But Toonami and Cartoon Network in general is what got me into anime, even when I didn't know what it was. For fans introducing someone to anime, they'd just send them a link to something online, tell them that it's awesome, and then they go from there.

Crunchyroll is niche and nobody starts in on anime with subs, they do so with dubs. It appeals to people who are already fans, it isn't bringing in new ones.

Netflix probably accounts for more fan conversions than anything in the streaming market even with their small catalog just because of the amount of people who subscribe to them and try out anime on a whim.

I can't really compare anything on the internet to a tv channel either. It's too different. 15 years ago Toonami was king shit, and barely anyone streamed video, let alone even had broadband internet at all. You aren't going to recapture something like that today, but you also can't marginalize it's previous popularity either and the impact it had on people.
