I'm receiving the following error when trying to play certain episodes:

The application experienced a server error. Please try again later.


I have gotten this error on the following episodes:

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 18 (Subbed)
Fate/Stay night Episode 7

Other episodes work fine. Are other users experiencing this? It's very disruptive when you run into an episode that doesn't work. I'll keep the list updated as I find them.

Update 1/6
I have removed Sailor Moon Crystal as it seems to be working. I contacted crunchyroll support about this and they recommended the following:

Let's see if changing your DNS will help. You’ll find complete instructions on how to change your DNS by using OpenDNS.com's all-encompassing guide. I'd try this first, as their servers are only in the USA and Europe. If this doesn't seem to help, you can try Google's Public DNS


Unfortunately this did not help me but hopefully it will help someone else having these issues.

This is happening on nearly every show for me.
I'm also getting a similar error now when trying to stream directly from the site as well.
Really frustrating honestly.

It's more than likely another DDoS or something along those lines. It's a pain in the ass. I know it's frustrating but there is no way I'm willing to blame CR for stuff out of their control. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

This has been happening since the app launched for xbox one for those particular episodes. That's why I'm not sure what the deal is.

Oh I read this as it being for the 360 and not the Xbox One. Haha my bad

I don't think a DDoS attack would fit considering Crunchyroll works just fine on every other platform.

I've been having the same problem on my Xbox One. Some episodes work, but most of them don't. I still have my Xbox 360 and I can switch over to it and the episodes work fine - its only the Xbox One that has been giving me problems. I get the same message as stated above, "The application experienced a server error. Please try again later."

Its really frustrating. I don't want to have to switch to my 360 every time I want to watch something on CR!

I got that error as well with Fate Stay Night Episode 7.

Unfortunately also getting it for:

Monogatari Second Season Episode 9
Kiniro Mosaic Episode 7
Hanasaku Iroha Episode 17

Thanks for the info! I'll try these when I get home this evening. I have contacted crunchyroll's support about this, but have not heard back yet. I'm thinking there is an encoding issue for certain videos that it is having a problem playing.

I keep getting the same error as well and its on every anime I try to watch, it freezes like its buffering then it goes to the server error screen kind of thinking of canceling my account if it doesnt get fixed soon cause I'm just wasting money on an app that doesnt work

I got the same message yesterday on any One Piece or Fate/Stay night episode I tried to play on my xbox one, and yet it would play fine on a browser on my computer. I uuninstalled/reinstalled the app and was able to watch them fine. Today however, I started getting the same message again and this time re-installation hasn't done the trick.
