So this is the scenario: You have a nervegear and find out just as you are about to connect that SAO is a death game. Do you still log in knowing that and accept it in order to live in a fantasy world despite the danger you might die? Or do you put the nervegear down and walk away?

Personally I'll admit, I'd still log in. Probably for the same reason Klein left Kirito, my friends would be there and I couldn't abandon them. Well, that and living in a fantasy world would be pretty awesome.

Oh yes, without a doubt!

So what if you can die in there, you can die in the real world too.
It's just less boring there so yes, I would log in.

Aren't we forgetting some conditions? Your biological body doesn't stop requiring maintenance just because you've a digital body now. You'll have to be fed, cleaned, have your waste carried away, all of that. You'll be racking up an electric bill, you'll be unable to respond to natural disasters like tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, or fires (making you entirely dependent upon emergency services and family/friends to rescue your effectively comatose backside), you're an easy target for sexual assault or murder since you can't pick up any sensory information from the outside world at all, this is actually incredibly burdensome to others and ridiculously dangerous to you even if you ignore the in-game threats or the dangers of the nerve gear.

The good news is that regardless of the fact that you entered the "death game" knowing these risks and the risk of death both you and your family would be able to enter a class action lawsuit against the company to recoup your losses and obtain compensation for emotional damage. Just as amusement parks can't get away with neglecting fundamental safety measures by putting a "Ride At Your Own Risk" sign at the entrances of their rides and are still liable if someone dies while riding, you can't release hardware and software which kills the end-user if they lose a game (or run into a bad internet connection, or have their internet turned off) and expect to not be sued into five hundred generations of bankruptcy. The bad news is, you'll probably be atrophied to the point of needing to be in a hospital for a while or...well...dead.

Long of it short? This sounds like a pretty bad idea.

Hell NO. Your bodies are still in the real world; you just add more burdens to the families. If you live alone, you are dead in 1 week without dying in a game.

It was a short arc but Yuuki is by far my favourite character in that show <3

I'd login, I can also die in this world - would much rather live in a fantasy world like SAO

I would probably have done it a couple of months ago when I was still obsessed with SAO. If I would do it today? No, and I'm glad. Instead, I'd wait until that VR-technique was safe for me to try. And one year later I would be soo addicted to VR.

No.
If you can die in a fantasy world, then it's no longer a "fantasy", but a new, virtual "reality". And I'm not the kind of person that escapes reality with reality...and, there is the whole dying thing...

...Besides, I'm more of a GENESIS person myself.
