Do you know who is F.T Island? Maybe you will feel unfamiliar with this new Korean boyband, but once you get to know them, you will be attracted by their unpretentiousness. While others are happily going to school, F.T Island is busy with their schedules... This "empty classroom's exploration travel" will show you that F.T Island is no different than any other students!

PHILOSOPHY CLASS
Q: What meaning does F.T Island brings you?
MH: I had a deep passion for music since I was a kid, and I always dreamt of doing something about music~ And with FT island, half of my dream is realized!
JH: FT island is my new life! When I'm feeling tired or facing difficulties, music and FT island will be my energy charger!
JJ: FT island gives me the real starting point of my life, the road of music!
HK: Another family throughout my life~
WB: It's like giving me the royal crown... a very special thing!

COMPULSORY CLASS
Q: Do you have anything that needs to be completed now?
MH: Nothing for now but I hope to make more money~ I wish to buy a set of drums [MinEe: ?]. If I could own a set of drums it would be splendid~
JH: I need more confidence and passion for music.
JJ: Do the best for a stage that belongs only to F.T Island! [JO: very well said, JaeJin!]
HK: Keep my vocal cord in good health.
WB: The strength and talent of a guitarist and vocalist! I would want my talents to improve. If I could, I would have no other dreams~

IDEAL CLASS
Q: What do you wish you had the most right now?
MH: To become kind-hearted, good-looking and macho - a perfect man! This should probably be everyone's dream~ Haha! [JO: forget about it la, MinHwan]
JH: I kind of wish I could go to the outer space~ I'm just joking, hehe! I really hope I could go travelling with my parents. [JO: Bring them to Malaysia! I wanna meet my in-laws XD]
HK: I wish I could go to my friends [JO: house maybe?], and rest there without any burden~ [JO: I'm not sure if this is what it means though, I'm just doing a literal translation]
WB: I hope I'll be more mature, in terms of age and music... Everytime when I feel hurt, I'll look back and feel that I'm like a kid, so I hope to be more mature!
JJ: Recently I have been involved in a comedy drama - Unstoppable Marriage. Although there were no feelings of stress [JO: from who?], but with some help from HongKi hyung, I am gonna work harder to let everyone see a better me! And if I could hear reviews/comments such as 'good job', I'll feel content!

UNUSUAL CLASS
Q: In this world, what do you think will never ever change no matter what?
MH: Of course it's F.T Island and its members!
JH: Appa omma, saranghae! [JO: LOL. Don't forget about me, Hunnie~]
JJ: That would be me - Lee Jae Jin [JO: So full of himself ._.]
HK: Parents! Especially now that I've moved out from home and living a hostel life, I can feel the love from my parents all over again, and also realized to treasure my parents!
WB: Family members... From those 2 years of hostel life, I suddenly realized that my family members are the most important!

EXPRESSION CLASS
Q: Will you insist on showing your unwillingness?
MH: Yes, I will! But I'll be cautious sometimes, because there are times where things cannot be said freely~ But in order for me to be able to express myself freely in the future, I will work hard!
JH: I would really like to stand strong on my opinion, and show others my strong side, but compared to me thinking of whether its good or bad, most of the time I'm having the same thought as the others.
JJ: My sentimental feelings is about 70%!! I try very hard to express my feelings. Because of this, even though I'm sad at times, I won't be able to show it out...
WB: As long as I feel that my judgement is correct, I'll believe in myself till the end! I'll never change my opinion, and I'll be sure to express it out! [JO: So macho, I like =)]

HAPPY CLASS
Q: When do you feel most happy?
MH: I feel most happy when fans give F.T Island tremendous support!
JH: When I'm performing with the members, and nervously going through our busy schedule, ah... these are the times when I feel most happy.
HK: The free time we have after our practice! I feel most happy during that time!

ACTING CLASS
Q: When do you feel like a man? And at what times do you feel like a lady?
JJ: When I'm doing something passionately, I feel that I'm a real man! But a lady?.... (thinking...) [JO: Think UM, JaeJin!]
HK: When people around me say I'm like a man, I'll feel like a man! [JO: What the..?] And also when I do something meaningful, I'll feel like a man too! On the contrary, when I aegyo [JO: Found no exact translation in English for this word, so I used Korean instead] with others, I'll feel like a girl~
WB: On mornings when I wake up, and look at my messy hair but I'm brushing my teeth manly, I'll have the feeling that I'm a real man! But, when I act cute I'll be like a girl...

What kind of band is this? Why are they so young? This is the sentence that one of my friend said after she met 5 boys from F.T Island. Ever if that time I don’t think they are young because of their talent on the stage.

For real, I’m not that old, so I don’t have a change to love anybody for serious except for like one girl I want to have a romantic love ^^ LOL. For example, if I have a girlfriend, I will sing a son and play the piano for her! That’s what I want to do to make girl love me [Big smile]

I’m so freak out when my parent complain me, before we debut, I got blamed by them a lot, but nowadays they stop doing that. But anyway, I still love them a lot. My mother is like my friend. It all started back during Chinese New Year, when I got to know that FT island will be coming for a concert. My friend, BB and me decided to go on a “star chasing” adventure. A few week before the arrival of the boys, we started our preparation: buying yellow colour clothes, and yes, we even went to make a light board! (with the words “SaRangHae” proudly embedded on it ^^)

28th March Thursday

WOah!!! Its today, D-day!!! Manage to obtain the information a few days ago that FT Island flight to Malaysia, MH67 will be arriving at 4.45pm. To be 101% certain of the time, we even double checked the flight schedule through our friend, Tang. (Jean:”OMG, Why am I down with this horrible sore throat at this crucial moment? No voice ah…. I rather die, kill me please….!!”)

During noon, we specially went to rush out the printing of our name card, logo and the ‘FT Island Malaysia’ wording (to be added to our light board). We wanted to let them know our support towards them. Besides that, as we were involve in the selling of albums and concert tickets, we had to make another trip specially to Sg Wang to meet fans and pass their tickets and albums to them. Finally, we made our way to KL Central to meet YiWon, who we got to know through the forum, and we set off to KLIA. Of all time, could you believe that there was not even one bus that was heading toward KLIA? God must be really pulling our legs… As we were seriously running out time, we had no choice but to take any available bus to LCCT and then head towards KLIA from LCCT.
Luckily and finally, we manage to reach KLIA on time. After observing the situation, we decided to split up and get work done. Jean was in charge of passing pre ordered albums to fans there, and also distributing free posters and promotional CDs. At the same time, BB and YiWon went scrutinizing around for the car which the boys will ride on later, and also looking for a taxi for our ride. We were really puzzled when we noticed that FT’s car was nowhere to be seen, there wasn’t any car standing by at the entrance waiting for them, how can this be?

We walked away from the crowd of fans and noticed that securities were standing by around the other exit. The guards noticed us at once, as dressings kind of stood out among the crowd. Unexpectedly, a security uncle came towards us and began chatting with us about FT Island. Thanks to the info provided by the security uncle, we were more certain that boys will be using this exit which was guarded the securities. In order not to arise the suspicious of other securities there, we begin acting and talking rubbish very loudly there, “Aiyoh, why aren’t my mum and dad out yet o…?” (LOL)

A few moments later, fans started screaming their head off. There came our long awaited FT members. As we don’t fancy squeezing and squashing in the crowd, we remain standing at a side watching the crowd and FT Island. FT Island went into the lift under the escort of the bodyguards. All 4 sides of the lift was made of transparent glasses, therefore we stood behind the lift holding up our light board toward them. Cutie Minhwan was so excited when he saw the light board and did an ultra super duper cute V sign. (OS: Woah~ this is absolutely cute to the extreme!!! )

After FT went down using the lift, we immediately rushed to board our taxi that BB halted just now. We told the driver to wait at the junction where every car will have to pass by no matter which exit it comes out from. We waited, waited and continue waited, amidst of our wild guessing, Juli, our friend from the forum called and inform us that they boarded a bus and not a car!!!!!! Another call came shortly after that saying that HongKi came down from the bus and was ransacking every luggage in search of something which seems very important to him. And also saying that JongHun was missing, rumors has it that he was stuck at the custom. At this moment, our taxi driver told us that exit for bus is at another totally different end. This is totally out of our expectations, it wasn’t even in our wildest dreams that they would use a bus. Even though we tried catching up with their bus, all our effort was futile. We didn’t even have a glimpse of their bus all along the way, and there was zero news too about where the boys would be heading to. Hence, we were left with no choice but to make our way to the hotel which they would be staying, Grand Millenium. As we were standing outside the hotel, we got to know YihTing and she told us that the boys were not back to the hotel yet. Then came the news saying that the boys were at MyFm for recordings. So we decided to fill our hungry stomach at Pavillion while we waited for them. When we came back after the meal, friends waiting at Astro told us that the boys have left Astro. We guessed that they should be back to the hotel soon. All of us began to feel bored from all the waiting, YihTing and Yiwon began chit-chatting, BB was busying chatting over the phone and Jean with one arm over BB’s shoulder, was looking around the street….

Then came a Van with the words “Bas Persiaran” on the outside of the van, it stopped right in front us as the traffic came to a halt in front of the hotel. We peep inside the van out of curiosity. The story continued with a handsome guy in the car who was sitting next to the window near us, he was daydreaming. Jean gave a random comment, “is this guy HongKi?” This hit us hard and brought us back to our senses, “is it really him?!?!” We weren’t too confirmed, “it seems like HongKi!!! ” We raised our hand and waved toward him, he was startled and woke up from his day dreaming, and he smiled and nodded at us! We were very excited as we confirmed that he was indeed HongKi! (OS: Haha… So funny, he was so blur lah!!!)

Without hesitation, we rushed towards the main entrance of the hotel, waiting for them to come down from the van. The hotel bellboy suggested that we could wait inside of the hotel. We quickly displayed our light board. Hongki came in first, followed by MinHwan and WonBin. There wasn’t much response from them three, so BB shouted “Annyeong”. They turned towards us, smiled and waved their hands. And off they went to their room. Yiwon reminded us that JaeJin and JongHun weren’t there. So we decided to continue waiting at the hotel for them. Time passed and still there wasn’t any sign of the 2 boys returning. In the end, we decided to pack up and go home after a long, fruitless wait.

We received the information quite some time later stating that JongHun actually took another different flight, and he reached the hotel around 3plus early in the morning. As for JaeJin, we really have no clue where he went to…!!!

March 28th Friday (The most interesting day)

We received the news that FT would be having a press conference at Izzi restaurant, so BB and me went to wait at the hotel lobby since early morning. Beside the sofa, there was a pillar which was made of mirror, mirror ah~ Naturally we were staring at the mirror, checking our appearance. At the same time, as we were too engrossed looking into the mirror, suddenly FT’s image appeared in the mirror. They were out already, we were still dumbly saying “here they come” as we looked at them through the mirror, why didn’t we realize that they were just behind us and all we have to do is just turn towards our back and they were just right there? It took us some time to come to our senses, and we quickly turned and walked towards them, and waved at them. FT boys waved back to us enthusiastically, especially MinHwan, he was really high and kept waving his hand, and was still waving when he was boarding the car. ^^ The car drove heading toward the main road in front of the hotel, and stopped at the traffic light at the junction, the traffic was quite heavy. Thus we walked to the roadside and waved at them again when their car passed by. The 5 boys continued waving at us, and one of them seems very hyper and was waving frantically, but because the glass of the car was tinted, we didn’t manage to see clearly who it was. =.=”

As Izzi restaurant was not far away from the hotel, we decided to go there by foot. The funniest thing is that, we managed to reach there by foot even before their car reached because the traffic on the road was heavy. We were there at the front entrance already and they were still stuck in the traffic jam. As we were waiting, we took out our camera and did some self cam… Here comes their car, but since we reckon that they won’t be coming out of the car so soon, we started doing the lamest thing in the world. We used each other’s sunglass to check our image, fighting over to use each other’s sunglass. Didn’t manage to see clearly, but either JaeJin or MinHwan kept watching at us from the car.

Finally them came out of the car. HongKi and JaeJin came down first, they stood outside for quite some time before entering Izzi Restaurant. Both of us and 2 other malay fans shouted “Ahnyeong hasae yo” together. There weren’t big response from them, them just gave us a smile. That “sampat guy” HongKi even made a circle (like earth’s rotation) before started walking into Izzi%E

FT Island climbed to #1 spot on Japan Tower Record Weekly World Chart.

FT Island's mini album "Prologue of FT Island - Soyogi," released June 7th, ranked #1 on Tower Record World Weekly Chart. The album also took #1 on Best Seller chart.

This is especially meaningful event since the album was released as indies without official promotion in Japan.

In addition, they also caught the eyes of many Japanese fans by performing In Store Live at Tower Record in Sibuya.

The representative explained that FT Island was invited to perform by the Towel Record itself, who is famous for being extremely picky when it comes to selecting artists for In store live show.

[News]FT Island Begins Japan Live House Tour

Handsome boy band FT Island, who raised teenage storm last year, kicked off their Live House Tour 2008 at Sibuya's O-EAST on June 20th. This Tour Live will continue next month in Nagoya the 4th, Osaka the 5th and Yokohama the 19th.

600 fans gathered at 20th Live Tour concert. FT Island, who appeared in colorful casual attire, performed 'FT Island' and 'Reo Reo,' as well as their mini album's 'Mirai Jitensha.' Fans sang along with them.

Following this, FT Island sang faster tempo song 'It's Love' and drama 'On Air's' title song 'One Word' as well as 'Until you return.' Then they greeted the fans in their fluent Japanese.

FT Island, who has been studying music and recording album since early April in Japan, sang 'Majoong,' 'Because I don't know how to love,' 'person who is closer to tears' in addition to singing 3 of Japan's rock band Elle Garden's song in English.

FT Island's mini album 'Prologue of FT Island - Soyogi,' which was released June 7th, reached #1 on Tower Record World Weekly Chart as well as claiming #1 spot in Best Seller Chart.

Lee Hong Gi of F.T. Island Casted for Leading Role in Master of Study

F.T. Island’s Lee Hong Gi has been casted for SBS “Master of Study” idol drama scheduled for broadcast in the Mon-Tue timeslot after the conclusion of “Tazza” expected in December. This is SBS’s answer to KBS idol drama “Boys over Flowers” scheduled for broadcast in end December. Exactly how will the idols fare against the incumbent star-studded “East of Eden” remains to be seen.

According to one production staff from “Master of Study” today, they are now discussing over the final details with Lee Hong Gi over his involvement. Other cast members will be announced in the next couple of days. Lee Hong Gi’s involvement is more or less confirmed with details to be ironed out.

“Master of Study” is adapted from a popular Japanese manga “Dragon Zakura” and talks of how students with the worst grades gets into Seoul University and their study process. Filming will begin at the end of this month with a broadcast date of 1st December if everything goes as scheduled.

Park Ye Jin and F.T. Island’s Lee Hong Gi will play out a teacher-student relationship in SBS “Master of Study” drama scheduled for broadcast after “Tazza” in the Mon-Tue timeslot starting from 1st December.

“Master of Study” is adapted from a popular Japanese manga “Dragon Zakura” and revolves around 6 students with the worst grades in a special class. Many interesting stories happen along the way as they take on the challenge of getting into the prestigious Seoul University with hilarious results.

Park Ye Jin plays an english teacher who is easily moved (emotional) while Lee Hong Gi plays a student who has dreams of becoming a singer. Other students already casted include Byeol Kim who is a bully initially but later becomes a cheerful maths genius. Hwang Baek Hyun plays a rebellious student while singer Rich is a student who looks mature on the outside but is actually very humorous. Three other roles hasn’t been casted yet and among them is a maths teacher who is very popular but has a mysterious background.

According to the drama PD, “Although we are unable to keep totally to the original storyline in the manga, but we will seek inspiration from the Japanese manga and drama adapation and try our best to produce a good drama.” “Master of Study” will begin filming at the end of this month.

The follow-up drama to “Tazza” was supposed to be “Terroir” starring Han Hye Jin and Kim Joo Hyuk but it has been postponed to 2009 because SBS wants to fight KBS idol drama “Boys Over Flowers” with it’s own idol drama
