Stuart Scott, the iconic ESPN SportsCenter anchor and football host, died on Sunday morning after seven years of suffering from cancer. Scott was 49 years old.

He started working with ESPN in 93, and I was born in 92. Ever since I could remember, he's been an anchor on ESPN, and to see him lose his life to this horrible decease, it makes me very sad. Specially since I have family members that have passed away because of cancer.

Stuart Scott will be missed by many, it seems weird watching ESPN without him now

I totally agree.

I read it as this:
"suffering from cancer. Scott was 93 years old.
He started working with ESPN in 49, and I was"
I was busy for 5mins thinking that he looked pretty young for a 93 year old. Started in 49?..years old?
-facepalm-
RIP Stuart.

I grew up listening to Stu on Sportscenter.
Hurts my heart for this to be true.

Sad news. I'll miss seeing Scott on ESPN. He and Scott Van Pelt were my favorite anchor duo.

49 years old...way too soon.

Since we are the same age I agree, practically grew up with Stuart Scott since SportsCenter has been the one constant in my life as long as I can remember. I'm not one to get too torn up over 'celebrity' deaths like that but I was pretty shaken by the news and when they showed the tribute video. He was always one of my favorites since I was a kid and that ESPY speech just pushed everything over the edge. He will be greatly missed to say the least.

Sad news, man. I grew up watching him over the years & ESPN won't be the same. Sports world lost an great dude today. It doesn't matter which anchor duo was great. Whoever he worked with, they're dynamite! Rest In Paradise, Mr. Scott

I thought I was the only one. It's because the two sets of digits are placed over top of one another at least in my browser. So your mind correlates what its scanning across and sometimes wants to jump ahead to the next thing that jumps out at it, in this case the next set of numbers. But R.I.P.!!!

I like this quote he left behind at the ESPY Awards:

"When you die, that does not mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live. So live, live, fight like hell. And when you get too tired, lay down, rest and let someone else fight for you."

May he rest in peace.
