Kei nozaki from Cuticle Detective Inaba.

I think the funniest line from him was in episode 11, when the villain (who is a goat) got jailed... and the other characters were asking, "Which jail would the goat be in?"

and his reply was, "Wouldn't it be the zoo?".

____

This was funny to me, because it is a criticism of the zoo system in society (irl). But you have to watch the anime to understand the entire context of the joke, I suppose... lol. It doesn't really make sense through explanations here.

She tosses out retorts like they're going out of style. I salute her tireless commitment to pointing out the ridiculousness of her peers!.

I kind of used to feel this way too, actually. Though now I appreciate it for some odd reason.

It's just supposed to accentuate the foolishness of what's happening. They're kind of like pranks. It's not enough to just "pull the prank" - you also want to see the reaction. If it you don't get a reaction out of it, it kind of loses meaning. Perhaps it's the same mentality behind laugh tracks? Though those are equally unpopular among some circles, i'm aware.

Yeah i understand.

The way it is to me, is that when they make a joke and i get it, it feels like it's getting repeated in the way of correcting it.

It's like if you are with a group of friends, and one friend tells a joke and you get it, but none else did, he ends up explaining it to the others, and the joke gets kinda ruined...

Laugh tracks doesn't have this effect on me though
