For our last announcement of the day, we have the video-game based title Samurai Warriors comes to Crunchyroll starting on Sunday, January 11th at 10:35 AM Pacific Time!

Samurai Warriors will be available to Crunchyroll users worldwide except for Asia.

Samurai Warriors focuses on the Sanada brothers during the Sengoku era of Japan. In late 16th century, the era of civil war that tore Japan over two centuries is nearing its end and the regional warlords who survived the bloodsheds are ready for a final showdown. In the battlefield where your best ally turns out to be your worst enemy, only the shrewdest can come out alive.

Sanada Yukimura and Nobuyuki will be voiced by veterans Takeshi Kusao (Dragon Ball Z as Trunks) and Daisuke Ono (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders as Jotaro Kujo). KOEI Tecmo Games software development head Hisashi Koinuma is serving as chief production supervisor of the series, while Koujin Ochi (La corda d’oro) is directing.

So many good shows this season not available to the US, but you get us THIS one?

This season is going to stink to high heaven.

Guessing Sentai licensed it which is why Crunchy has the stream. With few exceptions, Crunchyroll gets a) series licensed by Sentai or Aniplex, b) series licensed by Funi but for outside North America, or c) series not licensed by anybody.

This is the first title announced here that I wanted to watch and is not a second season. Nice to see that TV Tokyo is continuing to abandon its premium member exclusivity in most of the world this season.

Once again I'm mulling cancelling my subscription. I cannot afford to subscribe to CR and Funimation at the same time.
I am VERY disappointed that some of the shows I have been anticipating are not available here in the US.

Bottom line is, CR has to get it together or they are loosing a 6+ year premium subscriber.

Not stole, as Funimation still has it also.

If you look at who the publisher is, it is easy to see how they got this one despite Funimation having it.

Also, I assume you meant "not available to the US on Crunchyroll".

I can't recall any titles Sentai licensed that were also simulcast by Funimation. The publisher is TV Tokyo, a close CR partner (and early investor), so they probably just nixed Funimation getting an exclusive.

Boohoo, obnoxious manchild crying because a show is not targeted to his demographic.
As if all the shows should revolve around what he and his 6+ year membership want, don't make me laugh.

I, for one, am looking forward to this one because it has some funny people on board and it might actually be a very fun watch.

And it's always nice to see CR also simulcast something that Funimation has announced first. Hopefully this is something that can be done more often (if nothing else) because Funimation does tend to get the shows that I want to watch the most.
I'm still sore that they grabbed Death Parade and Ass Class.

Hmm, I think you may have misinterpreted what I wrote. I was talking about how in the past, TV Tokyo would license their series worldwide outside Asia, but would limit free viewing to the "USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden." Now they seem to have stopped doing it, and are allowing everyone, free or premium, to watch their shows.
