So I tried to watch the first episode of Yuri Kuma Arashi and got a message saying the video isn't available in this region. I'm not in Europe or some small country, I mean Canada shouldn't have problems with streaming things, right? I've never had this problem before with any anime...

Can anyone offer some help to fix this problem?

Thanks a lot!

It happens. There are several shows that CR picked up for regions that include neither Canada nor the US. Most typically these are titles that Funimation has.

Per the Site News announcement

Yurikuma Arashi will start airing on Monday, January 5th, at 11:30 AM Pacific Time, and will be available to users in the following territories: Europe (except for UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia), the Middle East and North Africa.

See the notable absence of the US and Canada. The exception of UK and Ireland for "Europe" is also a clue that in the parts of Europe/Middle East/North Africa that CR does offer it, there will be no English subtitles.

Thanks for letting me know. That's pretty upsetting to hear but whatever, I did my best to be legal.

Thanks for your help!

Also sometimes, something funny happens like Crunchy roll getting the rights to an anime for Canada, but only in french (and only on their french website).

For Wixoss, FUNi picked up the rights for the English-language simulcast in US & Canada. This meant, in this specific case, CR was unable to secure English rights to the show.

If you mean Hayate the Combat Butler, which one do you mean? There have been 4.

The first two series:

The two more recent ones:

That said, all 4 are still available in the US, so I would expect the same to be true for Canada.
