EDIT:
Alright. Hopefully this post is ok here.
So a pretty weird request, but as the title suggest, I am looking for an "Anime Sensei." I'll be quick and blunt at the start so you get what I mean then I will explain more later.

What I want:
- Someone who is very knowledgeable of Anime.
- Someone who can explain things well
- Someone who doesn't mind being burdened with question after question

Why this specific list? Well, I cannot really use the tactic that I am really new to Anime now (Still consider myself but have at least been watching for over a year now) and while I have been catching up on a lot in my opinion there is so much more to see that I may miss. I also may not understand some Anime's or really know which ones to watch next. So I figured the obvious solution would be to ask someone who knows Anime really well. I don't have any friends that are into it and the there is a group at my college I am going to join this next semester (Anime and Manga group but that won't be for a while longer)or know more than me save one, but she and I don't talk all that much, even though she is pretty much the one that got me into it. So I need someone to show me which ones I should/need to watch and explain anything on some if I get lost or don't fully understand a deeper meaning it might have.

With all that being said, I kind of doubt that anyone who fits the criteria will really be interested but just in case, it would be pretty sweet. There is another kind of requirement but I think it won't be a problem. Due to me wanting to talk to someone about Anime and stuff, there will be a lot of typing/talking. So the last requirement is some kind of easy way of communication. The 3 best ways that work for me are Skype, Facebook, or Xbox (This is voice communication so I feel a lot of people may not want to do this even though it is the easiest way). Out of the first two Skype is preferred but again, doesn't matter. This has gotten really long and is probably annoying to some.

With all that being said, if you are interested just let me know and we can talk about it more. You can just leave a reply or message me. I will update my profile with most of the Anime that I have watched (There are some movies and other stuff but I will just put mostly series shows). My name is Josh, and I am looking forward to working with you Master!

P.S. I haven't looked around the forums too much and I know topics that deal with talking about Anime are obviously in abundance, but those are comments and such and it would be much nicer to be one on one with someone in a quick way.

Couldn't agree more. However, I didn't really want to put a whole life story into it or anything and if no one is interested I can't blame them. Trust me, even as I was typing I was just thinking "Just close the window, and go to bed." But if someone says yes, then I gain something (albeit something weird I guess) and if no one says anything, nothing changes which really doesn't bother me.

While I'm not gonna claim to be an expert or 'sensei' on anime, just gonna throw out a suggestion for a series, if you can find the time to watch it.

I highly recommend watching the anime Gintama. It's a wonderful comedy/action anime that's set in Edo period Japan, but with a sci-fi twist that involves it being invaded by aliens (though it's mostly set in peaceful times after the earth has been effectively conquered). Doesn't sound like much, but it's really worth the watch, and not just for the comedy. It's also an anime that's filled with a bunch of japanese culture references (including references to other anime), and can really expand your knowledge on Japanese culture/history, if you're interested in that. It's a bit of a long series, currently at 265 episodes and getting a 7th season this April, but it's definitely worth the time put into it, in my honest opinion.

Hope this helps add to your list of anime to watch (I know a few other good series not on your list. Feel free to ask). Would volunteer to help more, but probably not qualified for it (judging by your profile, you've probably watched about the same amount of anime as me, if not more, lol). That, and the whole gender thing

No offfense, but you definitely could have worded that better. Also: There are no girls on the internet.

I don't really get why people keep asking, what kind of Anime they need to watch. Isn't one of the greatest things about Anime that there is such great variety and so many things to pick from? Just watch whatever you want, don't let people tell you that you are not a fan because you haven't seen a certain Anime yet. Ignore those assholes.

Plus. I don't get the entire over 18 part. So people under 18 are kids, but people over 18 are not? What a weirdly specific cut-off date. That is just judging people very superficially. I have seen thirteen year olds that are way more mature than some thirty year olds. But whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Little note: I don't know if you're familiar with MAL yet, but myanimelist is pretty much the easist way to keep up with your Anime watching. Also, it has pretty much every Anime ever made on there, with little exceptions, recommendations, scores, relatively detailed reviews, it could be helpful for you.

Well everyone 18 and up are legally adults. However I will strongly second your first paragraph.

Although about MAL, I'm not sure if that's exactly a good way to get a good review on an anime. Recommendations are usually okay but reviews are pretty messed up on both sides.
