Title basically says it all,

What two player games would you recommend?

The type of console doesn't especially matter. We have a WiiU, PS3, and X-Box 360. We don't have a PS4 or an X-Box One but if it's that good, I want to hear about it. It has to be two player co-op, not online or second console required....unless we're talking about 3DS.

I'll start:

We recently played Rayman Legends for the WiiU and loved it.

We're still working through Diablo 3 on the PS3, we like it but after awhile it seems like it's just dungeon after dungeon honestly.

MarioKart is awesome of course.

Orcs Must Die 2 has surprisingly good Coop. It's not a long game, but my friend and I played it through and enjoyed it quite a lot. I'd encourage you to give it a try, especially if you like a bit of tactical thinking in your game-play.

Other games that we've duo-ed recently (not counting MMOs or MOBAs)

- Guantlet: You'll hit a wall eventually with only a 2-man party, and it does get repetitive, but it's fun while it lasts.
- Dungeon Defenders (the sequel just released; haven't played it yet): It's tough as a duo, and requires quite a bit of discussion and strategic thinking. But if that's a turn-on for you, it's a lot of fun.
- Path of Exile: Clearly in the same genre as Diablo, but a pretty interesting take on it.

Castle Crashers
Not a big fan of FPS but I actually had a lot of fun doing zombies in COD: Black ops and I dont even really like the COD series. Its a lot of fun.
Portal 2 - must play co-op
Borderlands 2
Sonic All-Stars Racing
Far Cry 3

All the other ones are really for PC
Divinity: Original Sin
Spelunky (might be console? IDK)
Left 4 Dead 2 (might be console as well?)
Goat Simulator

Kinda sucks cause the best co-op games are shooters

Awesome! I'll make sure to look into each of these titles, thanks! We do like some strategy in our game play for sure. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was nice for that reason, too short but I liked it a lot.

You're so right about that! Most good co-ops these days are shooters, and I'm not partial to them either. I feel like it's hard to find a good multi-player game anymore! I'll make a few exceptions though. DH and I always play the Resident Evil games when they come out.

I hadn't considered COD Zombies for my lack of love for FPS but I'll look into, you have me intrigued.

Left 4 Dead 2 is indeed out for consoles, good game too.

I picked up Borderland 2 a few weeks ago on a blind buy, happy to see it on your list.

Love the Mario Party series! Wish they'd make one for the WiiU!

Resident Evil 5 is on PS3/360 and is split screen local co-op. Not sure about 6 since I never played that one.

If you wanna go oldschool, you can enter Wii mode on the WiiU and grab Secret of Mana too. Classic RPG that was one of the few games on SNES that could accommodate three players. Naturally, you'll need two Wiimotes though, preferably with Classic Controller extensions. Dont think it's on WiiU yet.

So far though, many good suggestions have also been made. If more come to mind Ill drop by this thread again and make em.
