So funimation is stepping up their game huh? Well no reason funimation and crunchyroll can't both have the same anime aired right? I mean doesn't funimation also have Durarara? (i just don't wish to end up paying for funimation and crunchyroll )

Aniplex of America holds the license for this part of the world for both the original series and the new one this season. Aside from having no need of Funimation (since they publish their own home videos), they've already announced where it will be streaming, and Funimation definitely wasn't on the list (but CR and Hulu were).

The only Aniplex title in recent history I can recall them licensing to Funimation was the third Black Butler series, and a big factor in that was no doubt that Funimation had licensed the previous two series before Aniplex had started their own home video distribution in North America.

Personally, I don't have a problem paying both companies. I've been doing so for some time.

I usually don't give to much thought to which simulcasts I would like to see.

The reason for that is that I typically like to wait until they completed airing (or nearly completed, if they my interest has been peaked). At that point I could go by the "buzz" on what they were really like, instead of what they were expected to be. Of course, there are some series that are already on my radar due to being sequels of shows I've already viewed (e.g. Alnoah Zero, Durarara!!x2).

I have viewed one anime from the season already: Tsukimonogatari (at Daisuki). Of course, it meets the "completed airing" criteria.

Oh good. DURARARA!! I never finished it. I had it all on the DVR when it was on Toonami but the DVR broke and it was all lost. Thanks Crunchy.

Good luck, both parts of Funimation's lineup. Maybe outside of the US.

Subs vs dubs is a stupid debate. People will like what they like no matter what. I agree with you, even though they're getting the dub, when I finally watch Durarara! I'll watch the subs. But dubs will always bring more people in that aren't into anime.

New guy pitching into the convo here:
I agree the debate is dumb, although I'm inclined to disagree that dubs always bring more people in. In all honesty, most anime characters look like aliens or mice or at least some-non-human form that is supposed to be taken more seriously than their American cartoon counterparts. That said, I understand it when people look at it and go "that's weird". I can't seem to get people to even try watching, much less entice them with a dub.

Good point. Then again, I have a few friends that refuse to watch anything unless it's dubbed, but they like all the mainstream stuff (cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo, Attack on titan).
