1. Oreimo (loved the focus on anime culture in the anime)
2. FMA Brotherhood (Everything you could want in anime)
3. Code Geass (the drama & the intellectual battles)
4. Clannad After Story (the heartbreaker)
5. Baccano (unique & captivating)
Great choices... other than Baccano. In my personal opinion I feel as though it was sub par despite its attempt at being unique. The anime just didn't click with me. Other than that I do like your picks.
Thanks, I almost put Higurashi up there because I LOVE that anime. Honestly, I hated Baccano until about halfway through, but I was distracted with quite a few other anime at the time I was watching it. After completing it I rewatched it with a friend, and liked it a lot better the second time through. I mainly enjoyed the characters!
I see, then perhaps that was also my problem, with that said I shall now go and re-watch it when I find some time! The characters I admit were something else lol.
Well i hope you enjoy it more this time through!
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya as a top 5?? I feel this needs support even with this whole thing being subjective lol. If you list it as a top 5 then you can't skip during The Endless Eight Arc, or did you?
Seems like we're naming our favorite animes xD
I actually have a lot of favorites. But it would take too long to name them all LOL
MY top 5 are:
You want me to only choose five? It's like choosing children...but if I must,
In no order:
1. Cowboy Bebop
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion
3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
4. Kuroko's Basketball
5. Madoka Magica
I only consider a show amazing if it made me feel something, either physically or emotionally. These are the five that did that the most for me.
Honorable mentions: Soul Eater, Hellsing: Ultimate, Clannad, Kimi ni Todoke, and Say "I Love You"
This, this is a good list. I like this list.
The way I decide what makes an amazing anime is the same way as yours but my list is fairly different save for a few choices. It's definitely hard to narrow it down to 5 though.
So for me, here's my top 5:
1.) Neon Genesis Evangelion
3.) Maison Ikkoku
5.) Rurouni Kenshin (gets bumped to #5 because of Trust and Betrayal, easily my favorite anime OVA of all time and includes a huge amount of backstory and character development to an already amazing series)
So, for shits and giggles I'm going with my top 15:
6.) Gundam 00, the rest of the metaseries floats around in here too but I won't give them extra mentions since Gundam 00 was still the best one to come out of the Gundam franchise in my eyes
7.) Cowboy Bepop (loved the series but it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen. It definitely deserves to be somewhere in the top 10)
8.) Broken Blade (movie series, although film #6 could have been a lot better)
10.) Rage of Bahamut
11.) Black Lagoon
12.) Hellsing Ultimate
13.) Madoka Magica
14.) Golden Time
15.) The Tatami Galaxy
Parasyte will probably wind up somewhere in there once it finishes but until then I'm reserving final judgement.
That is more or less the case but it looks like a few are trying to be as objective as possible and base it off of storytelling, characters, entertainment value, and other parts of the series rather than just "ERMAGERD NARUTO ISSSS SOOOO AMAZING, BEST ANIME EVAR NOTHING IS BETTER"
Edit: Forgot about Black Lagoon, adjusted the list accordingly
Grimgar knocked it out of the part this Winter. Time to binge the LNs
My Top Ten Favorites:
10.) Code Geass
9.) Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
8.) Puella Magi Madoka Magica
6.) Death Note
5.) Cowboy Bebop
4.) Steins; Gate
3.) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2.) Clannad: After Story
1.) Neon Genesis Evangelion
Can people stop pluralizing the word anime? The majority of nouns in Japanese have no readable plual, so you use the same word whether you're using a singular noun or a plural noun.
These are just a handful of my favorites, they are by no means my definitive top 5:
The Wind Rises
Giant Robo the Animation: Chikyuu ga Seishi Suru Hi
Turn A Gundam
Overman King Gainer
Stop liking things I don't like
Hm, it's a little hard to order them, so in no particular order, my 5 favorite anime are:
1. Heartcatch Precure!
2. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
4. Shinryaku!/? Ika Musume
Nonetheless I feel the need to mention Usagi Drop somewhere in this post because it's such a wonderful series (if you don't read the manga) (don't read the manga) It's just so light-hearted and fun and everything I could ever want from a series like this.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Hunter X Hunter
If more coproration would give Crunchroll licenses to have their anime shown,...
Ahh this is so hard but I'll name a few xD
1. Blue Exorcist
2. Hiiro no Kakera
3. My little Monster
4. Samurai Deeper Kyo
5. Brave 10
I wish I could continue my list but I'll leave it like that
1. Aria Series
3. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru
4. Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
5. Hidamari Sketch
Add me on osu!
3. One Piece
2. Naruto shippuden
1. Hunter x Hunter
HxH is a masterpiece.
Gosh, this is hard but ok, ill do it!
Top 5 in no order whatsoever
1.Inuyasha ( I got into anime thanks to Inuyasha)
3.Kimi ni Todoke
4.Time of Eve
Others would be:
7.Nagi no Asukara
8.Rose of Versailes
9.Ghost in the Shell
10.Full Metal Alchemist
11.The World is still Beautiful
12.Attack on Titan
13.White Album 2
14.The Pilots Love Song
These are some that I have felt some sort of emotion and I can rewatch and still feel those emotions.
1. Little Busters! Refrain
2. Fate/stay night (2006)
3. Kanon (2006)
5. Yosuga no Sora
10. My Bride is a Mermaid
I am now an apprentice of speaking the red truth.
In no particular order:
1. Naruto (because it got me into anime)
3. The pet girl of sakura hall
5. Attack on titan
A wise dragon once told me; "Aim high in life and watch out for flying boxes."
