I tend to get not so much invested with deaths or super-tragic things, but anything that instills a feeling of dread completely gets me, especially if I'm watching it week to week. If things are going south and the narrative is built so that failure is a real option (so, not shows like Gurren Lagann or Sailor Moon), that can really affect me. Madoka was pretty bad, as was the last few weeks of Yuuki Yuuna, and currently I'm feeling that way about Tokyo Ghoul.

The only anime that ever gets me emotional is stuff I watched a while ago. Back when I got a lot more invested. Naruto is one, which I watched 4-5 years back. Not because it's actually sad(which it sorta is), but more because I watched it when I was younger. And Bebop, which hit me like a train with all the emotions. So, no, not anymore. But I used to. Now I'm a robot, and it sucks :/

I most definitely do and im not mad about that at all. I love getting immersed into the different series and getting emotionally attached. In my eyes regular TV shows can pull it off for some reason. My guess is that with anime to me it is art. And the combination of music, good voice actors, and animations can really bring the emotion out of someone and make them feel a certain way, which i find amazing.

Wait, what's Juza of the Clouds doing?

OH no you don't Juza! THAT'S RAOH'S HORSE, YOU CAN'T TAKE KOKUOH-GO! HIS TRUSTY STEED!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING? NOOO! LOOK AT HOW MAD RAOH IS! HE DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO MOVE WITHOUT HIS HORSE! HE HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE, BUT HE CAN'T! NO CAR CAN CARRY HIM, ONLY KOKUOH GO!

KILL HIM, KILL THE FUCKER, FUCK YOU JUZA! GO FUCKING DIE! THAT'S RAOH'S HORSE!

YEAH, FUCKING SUFFER BITCH. BETRAY THE ONES YOU LOVE AND TELL US THE NAME OF THE ONE YOUR WORKING FOR! THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THE GENERAL OF THE SOUTH STAR SHALL BE KNOWN TO KEN-OH NOW! FUCKING SUFFER YOU INCESTUOUS LITTLE SHIT.

^ My live reactions to the Episode of Fist of the North Star in which Juza of the Clouds steals Raoh's horse Kokuoh-Go in order to slow down his advance on the South Star castle in which the General of the South Star Army was, who Raoh wanted to kill but ALSO didn't know who was, which was a very important plot point as he needed to know who it was and stuff.

and JUZA DIES LIKE A LITTLE FUCKING BITCH, AND I WAS SUPER HAPPY.

So, do you think i get Emotionally invested?

I've been known to ball my eyes out over an anime. Air being the top of the list. ("Goal!" )

OP, I wouldn't be too concerned. Being able to become emotionally invested in fiction is both cathartic and helps to provide experience you can draw from when real life tragedy occurs (i.e. you've had the strong emotions before and are better prepared to come to accept and deal with them).

Too much so lol. It also doesn't help that my favorite genre is romance.

I'm also similar to you in that I seem to have lost any feelings towards live-action shows/movies (or real people shows as I like to call them lol). I try to explain it to myself in a way that because I know those people on TV are actors and are just portraying everything, I for some reason just acknowledge its fakeness per se and lose any attachment because they are trying to make me believe in a fake version of our world. Whereas with anime I view it as its own world, and I thusly view the anime characters' situations as real. Sure there are people voicing everything out, but it still just feels more authentic to me. Also adding another layer onto that, I don't know Japanese (besides a few phrases I've picked up from watching so much anime), and I have never actually encountered a situation with real people that speak Japanese, so I kind of see Japanese as like the anime world's language lol.

So far the only anime that really got to me emotionally is Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. While I consider it a masterpiece, to this day I still can't bring myself to rewatch it due to how tragic it is.

I think getting to the point where I would seriously consider sacrificing something important for certain characters' well-being is considered overly emotionally invested, so yes, I have been known to get overly invested sometimes.

It took me a few days to recover after watching Clannad/Clannad After Story. I thought I was starting to lose my mind. Emotions are rather confusing.

I usually don't get emotionally involved in an anime. I've gotten a few tears in my eyes when certain characters died in a few animes, but nothing like full blown crying. The only anime I have ever full out cried too was Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.
