I wouldn't watch it if I wasn't at least a little emotionally invested in it, but there are a few series that really consume my heart and soul.

Not frequently, it mainly depends on the immersion of the story and the events; which is why I will always be impressed by any that stir my emotions.

I often find I miss watching a show once it's finished, or would like to see more, so yes, could say I'd be "sad" when it's over.

Although I found with A Certain Scientific Railgun that I would never watch A Certain Magic Index (or read any of the manga related to them) because, as sorry as I am to see it end at the end of the second season/series, I don't care for the path it would go down later. As much as Touma is a good and admirable character, I'd rather think Misaka ends up with the "crazy stalker" (still think the two are soulmates, even if Misaka can't admit it yet). Settled that by finding fan-fic with the better resolution (regular fan-fic, didn't need to read yuri).

I do, but it's not really by choice, that's why i'm disgusted at people that watch 5-10 animes at once, one at a time, and as immersed as i possibly can.

A few, but I tend to only get really emotionally invested in long shows, and they tend to typically be drama/romance. Like Fruits Basket and Gakuen Alice.

Pandora Hearts has wrecked me repeatedly. I'm in my thirties and have plenty of real life things to be concerned about, but I bawl my eyes out over certain character deaths every time they're even mentioned, and get way too worked up over various family relationships and friendships.

Durarara!! also kicks my ass pretty hard, in terms of my getting way too worked up over what characters are doing. I have a habit of rewatching the first season and yelling at my favorite character about what a liar he is the whole time. I just get way too wrapped up in the intricate webs of manipulation and unhealthy obsession in the series.

Come to think of it, most of my Pandora Hearts flailing has to do with unhealthy obsession too, oops...

Not in the way most people do. I like adrenaline and fight scenes, things that get my heart going.

I'd like to add to someone's comment that watching "slice of life" anime doesn't prevent you from getting invested in it too. Like feeling sad for little Azu-nyan being left behind while her bandmates go off to college. Of course *that* series is also depressing to think of how much more I could have been doing in the (*cough* *cough*) 'decades' since **I** graduated from school, and hate to think HTT might actually *not* reach Budakon.
