With almost every single anime I watch mainly Girls und Panzer, Plastic memories, Akame ga Kill, and a lot more others that I wont list just because it will be to damn long.

I have become much more apathetic since I posted this thread. I think Your Lie in April is what did it to me. I felt extremely sad and then I just stopped caring. I have noticed I am a lot more apathetic on subjects aside from death as well.

Most of the time I don't get very emotional, but a brilliant or beautiful story can have some impact. Then there's Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. I don't know if I was right for a week after that one.

Most of time, yes. Especially when it comes it Kuroko No Basuke (I kept bawling while reading the Teiko Arc), Free!!, or some shoujo anime like Ao Haru Ride or Sukitte Ii Na Yo.

I have been emotionally invested too much multiple times. Even today actually. I started reading Suzuka yesterday and got to about chapter 45 and then for all of today I could not stop thinking about what was going on and how I felt about it. It actually altered my mood for most of the day.

A list of the Anime/Manga I think I have been very emotionally invested in at one point or another. (There have been many, and I recommend each and every one of these.)

Anime: Clannad, Code Geass, Ef a Tale of Memories, Fruits Basket, Hotarubi no Mori e, Hourou Musuko, Kanon, Kotonoha no Niwa, Spice and Wolf, Toradora, Whisper of the Heart, Zero no Tsukaima.
Manga: IO, Suzuka, Umi no Misaki.

Lavender, do you have any specifically that have stood out above the rest? (Just curious, I have a lot on my list, but it's always nice to have more to be distracted with XD)

Man I'm glad to see I'm not the only one like that.

It's strange, when it comes to regular movies or tv shows I get invested in if it's good but I've never experienced the emotion I get from certain anime. I think one of the only movies I teared up to was a movie hatchi or whatever it was called with the dogs owner who was homeless died and the dog was always looking for him if I remember correctly.

I'm not so sure what It is about anime that does that. Like for an example when I binge watched Madoka magica and the movie late at night afterwards I couldn't fall asleep as I couldn't get it off my mind and then woke up in a depression the next day lol. Now that I'm thinking about it there has been quite a few shows where after finishing it I get left with an empty sad feeling. i think at least four or five shows have left me in tears at this point. I actually went through this cycle a couple days ago with terror in resonance.

I have some shows that have made me sad, others than made me super attached to a certain character (always rooting for them and such), and some where I get super pissed at a certain character, to the point of hours of rage outside of watching that show.

I think that I maybe get a little too invested in some characters, and when I finish a series like that, it is like everything is over, and there is nothing left to watch or enjoy. Anyone else ever get that, that blank/hopeless period after finishing something REALLY good?

When I like a character in an anime I think to myself please don't die.
Especially in an anime like Baccano! where every character is likable in some way and there are two serial killers and mobsters on a train.

I don't think you have to worry about characters dying in baccano.
