It's funny how one of the girls thought anime was just porn.

At least they showed them Attack On Titan first. I was dreading their opinions of Kill la Kill.

Kill la Kill is a terrible show to have them see for the first time. They will immediately think its just a "weird cartoon" and has no story when it actually does.

It's true. Kill la Kill is one of the worst anime EVER to show to first-timers.

Besides most of the people who watched it weren't even first-timers because one kid mentioned Dragon Ball Z and another mentioned Sailor Moon.

They should of showed them Inuyasha or some other anime that's good for first timers. I watch a lot of Buzzfeed videos but I haven't seen this one before, I didn't even know they did a video about anime!?

I wouldn't even recommend kill la kill for veteran anime fans.

I don't know how many times I've read "anime fans" have pass this anime off as a "fanservice" anime. They don't realise the difference between anime that's made to turn you on, and anime's that's made to make you laugh or think deeper about something.

I think the satire, parody and humour went over some people's head. You have to be a real anime lover to really appreciate this ingenious piece of work. =D

Speaking from experience after running several very successful anime clubs in college:

1) Find out what kind of story the person likes, then base which anime you show them first on that.

2) Be sure it's a dubbed version! It's important to pull them into the story and animation without making them work for it !!

3) Remember, you're not doing this to entertain yourself. It's not about what you enjoy watching.

Yeah lets show them TWO Anime's and have them base their opinion on just that. Does that make sense? NO. As mentioned before at least they didn't show them Kill La Kill first.

P.S. I love how western culture hates nudity but loves gore and violence. I prefer neither but I can stomach nudity better than intense gore.

I personally think it's funny how western culture views anything that's not...well, western culture. You would think that with the internet and all, people would be more educated on the state of the world these days but some people think other cultures are completely weird and refuse to have anything to do with it.

The comments section really pisses me off. Everyone is so offended by the tiniest insult towards anime. Plus even if they did watch DBZ or SM as a child, even though it's anime, it's really been a long ass time since they saw those shows. They're comments are funny and they are supposed to react to what they're watching. It would be boring to watch them sit there and not saying anything.

Also, yes Kill La Kill was a baaaaad choice to show. BUT I bet they had some poll somewhere asking what they should show soooo.

I would liken showing then Kill la Kill and Attack on Titan as a first anime to showing someone The Human Centipede as a first horror movie...

You dont do that.. You work up to things like those
