I have never made any clothes from scratch but I really want to cosplay as Jotaro Kujo (from JJBA). I have most of the costume sorted out except the main part - the jacket/gakuran

Since I have never made anything before, I don't even know where to start with the pattern making. Can anyone help me? I need it to look like a normal gakuran but longer at the bottom and a longer collar. it needs to be black on the outside and white on the inside. tbh, even a pattern for a normal gakuran would be great help because I know how to modify it from that point.

I know this is asking a lot, but I really want to make this perfect

I've never made a gakuran before. Sorry, can't help much in giving an actual pattern. Plus, I tend to make my patterns out of scratch.

However, I found this to be useful, if you want to buy an actual pattern or use it as a leaping point to find similar patterns.

I found this list for free patterns. I couldn't find a gakuran, but maybe there could be something you could modify.

Perhaps look into Seto Kaiba's (Yu-Gi-Oh!) long jacket to modify, since he's a popular character? Though, the only thing is that sleeves are a pain, so you may have to mix and match pattern pieces.

Everyone's experience with patterns differs. Good luck to you. Wish I had an actual pattern for you.

thanks! I'm really surpised at how difficult it is to find a gakuran pattern... especially considering every anime character ever has worn one

I'll have a look at those patterns, I'm sure modifying it won't be too hard
