It's only licensed for parts of Asia, not the US. Check this news article: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-883531/new-winter-titles-world-break-why-cant-seiya-toudoin-age-16-get-a-girlfriend-durarara-x-2-dog-days

Calm down. What do you think how I feel that popular series like Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online and One Piece are not on Crunchyroll in Germany? Thats the thing with licensing and giving the rights to different organizations. These are all "marketing decisions" made by the publishers which think that they know best where something works and where it doesnt. Or just simply someone like Funimation or more regional publishers claim the rights before Crunchyroll so CR cant stream them.

It might be awhile but Funimation is trying to get to stream shows outside of the US !

That sounds great but it will take a while for us Germans. Especially because Crunchyroll launched just one year ago there. I personally could live without German Subs because I am used to English Subs and I am usually switching to them. But it seems they really want those German subtitles. I think that Crunchyroll has a hard time in Germany so there wouldnt be Funimation there until they push out the others. We got publishers "specialized" for the German Anime community which means, that they are claiming a lot of License themselves (Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, Psycho Pass) so you only get DVD and Blu-ray releases here. They will fight hard to maintain their position in this region and Funimation will wait at least a few years before launching in Germany I guess.

Good Luck I feel for the regions that get locked out! But I think the publishers se a way to make money via DVD's merch etc! So if somebody sees a show hopefully that happens!

A lot of people are wondering what was going on. This is the first time the US and Canada have been locked out on a sequel to a series CR had the previous versions of, as well as the first time CR has been locked out for both for a series someone else in the US didn't have. At least if some other service like Daisuki or Funimation had it, it would make some sense.

What makes this even stranger is those people in Asia that can view the 3rd series have no access to the first or second!

All signs thus far seem to point to the licensor simply not wanting to license the series outside of Asia. It makes me wonder if the company handling it isn't entirely different than for the first two series (which is listed as Aniplex).

Well what confuses me is that its available in japan and they can watch it on tv so but to exclude china south korea and india is also weird. And the fact that crunchy roll hasnt said anything about it

The show is not available in Japan. The only series we're offering here is RWBY.

Either way, licensing is a complex matter, and even if we don't manage to secure a license for a particular region, you can be sure that we have attempted to acquire it.

Things can change over the years. Faces and company policies can change. As I said, it's a complex matter.
And no, I don't know any specifics about the Dog Days licensing.

Japan not being included in the exceptions was an error. It appears the exception list was truncated, as there was no "and" before India, and no period after.

Regardless of what the regions say, I confirmed for myself it isn't available in Japan by using a free web proxy to check. It isn't even listed on the lineup page there (while it does appear for some places that don't actually have it, due to it picking up the availability of the first and second series on the same page).

Given that no one that can view the third series can view the first or second (and visa versa), I take that as a small sign that CR hopes to eventually get other territories for the 3rd series. Otherwise, it would have made more sense to give the third series its own page.
