When I was growing up mother would make chow mein, fried wanton shrimp or fried rice. Lately I decided to have a go at making onigiri. So simple and tasty. I like the tuna filling ones.

Have only tried two and of the two the one that turned out the best was the Miso Soup. Easy to make and tasted amazing.

I made onigiri but I'm pretty sure I got the ratio of rice to filling wrong. They ended up being mostly rice and the rice part was kind of bland.

My cooking skills are quite limited, so pretty much it's just limited to store-bought stuff that is prepared ahead of time so that all I need to do is take it out of the freezer and put everything in a skillet to cook. Just about the only dish made from scratch that I'm any good at cooking is mabo tofu, and other kinds of stuff that requires steaming some meat or something as simple as that seeing how extremely limited my options are with what I have to work with in the kitchen.

Either Udon or Soba.... Frankly whatever at the time I am craving and plus there not the hardest to make unless you're
making it from scratch.

I'm just a lazy dude.

Just made Tamagoyaki for the first time this morning. Was easy and darn tasty. So it would be a tossup between that and Miso Soup.

Soba instead of spagetti, in most cases is awesomeness that cannot be expressed by mere words.

Chicken stir-fry, sushi and prawn tempura are the only Asian dishes I enjoy making. Stir-fry because it's quick and easy, sushi because it is a fun process to go through when I have time, and tempura because it tastes just as amazing as sushi.

My steamed buns are terrible. Both the filling and the dough don't come out right no matter what I try.
My mapo tofu lacks something that I just can't pin down.
My beef and broccoli has been evolving, but it still has a long ways to go.
My tonkatsu is improving but hasn't met my expectations yet.
Even my potstickers and and wonton soup are missing something subtle, but important.
Lately, my curry has been a mess. I haven't found a blend of spices that works, and my ingredients lists have been exhausted. I need to take a step back and take a fresh approach.

I love to cook and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Most of my recipes have a long way to go before I will be happy with them. Still, the people eating my dishes almost always enjoy what they are served. I've been working on four course meals with a dessert lately. That's been a bit rough. I've got a ways to go before I can be considered competent in the kitchen. Getting there though.

Rice because it's easy to make. Jk, well, I don't make food for myself that often so I can't really say, and I always eat Asian food so it would be hard to choose to make something.

If I wanted asian cuisine there's like five places within 2 minutes, but I'd have to say microwave rice since I can't cook.
