Here's why you've never heard Nirvana on a classic rock station. It's the simple fact they aren't categorized as Classic Rock, they are categorized in the music genre known as grunge and alternative rock. That must be a very good reason for not hearing them on your classic rock station. If you would simply turn to a modern rock station then I'm sure you would hear them.
I cannot believe you didn't know that, you must be a noob.
Now even though they are overrated there is only one song that I like from them. That song would be a cover from a David Bowie song know as "The Man Who Sold the World."

Last time I went there I heard Dashboard Confessional and some other whiny emo bands.*shudder* The Used isn't worth there boring crap. I download all y alternative now, carefully.
I thought they would play Grunge on classic rock because the have the other mellow ballads there.

How exactly are they overrated, if they have excellent lyrics and a wide experimental style that lead to a new genre? I might be a sappy philosopher but I like poetry in my music.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Beatles are mellow. It's a list of mellow bands.

Nitvana didnt make a new genre of music grunge has been around since the early 80's its a ridiculous offshoot of punk music.
and their lyrics arent even mediocre subpar @ best.

Compared to what exactly?
I compare them to some of the broken styles of poetry we had to learn in literature class. Their musical sound is like an acid trip meets punk, and has sweet sex with it.

Wow. I read the link article, it was pretty biased toward loud-sounding/deathmetal bands, and I am only arguing mellow songs.

Guess what I think the best song is. WARPIGS-BLACK SABBATH. But that is not mellow. Quit freaking out because I left a lot of work for you on the Best anime thread, and stop attacking me instead of the argument.

I was thinking they were experimental because from their early crap(Aero Zepplin) came better and different sounds(Smells Like Teen Spirit), and then just emotion sounds(Rape Me, All Apologies). Maybe the word I should have used was broad range. That is classic like the Rolling Stones.

Those songs in the article were so underground and disturbing apparently, that none of my emo, deathmetal, or pothead music-loving friends ever mentioned them to me. They

And I have Aboriginal music and Russian opera for goodness sake. I'll download them to see if they are good, but likely if no one has mentioned them, something must be wrong.

Now what do you think is a good mellow band? Because I am not gonna let Radiohead have this, even though they are classic.
I had to tell my pothead friend, "if you have to be high to enjoy their music, they suck"(Phish).

haha.
elitist asshole.
take the door
stage right.

i didn't argue with you on the other thread.
that was the other guy
but your elitist opinion about anything you get the fervor to argue..even when people aren't argumentative...that shit is not wanted.

so stfu.

seriously.
i gave you choices.

and btw
i just slapped an article on there
following the same suite you do.
all the arguments i posed are legitimate.
don't base everything i say on an article
because those are the articles words not mine.
again.
stfu.
for once.

I am an elitist smartass, I can't deny that. I have had higher standards since I was a child. And I only collect relevant things and information. All this noobish shit pisses me off is all.
And along this path called life(I call it Hell) I have learned some basic things.
Being a smartass is better than being a dumbass like you.

I am being polite and quite objective based on my previous posts. But if you fucking want an intelligent argument, calm your Nirvana-hating ass down and turn on your brain.
The sheer immensity of the intellectual shit you are walking into, will cause you to totally flame me. And I don't want anymore losers trying to flame me when the debate is over. FUCKING HATERS. If you aren't fervorent enought to defend your opinion you are an opinionated assfuck.

I now realize what Hitler was doing when he euthanized the mentally-retarded.
Posted 11/22/06
by saying the hitler thing arent you yourself turning this into a flame war you dont want?.....and bwt no ones hating on you yourself just your views for being misguided and close minded its obvious you dont listen to much music outside of the mainstream front which is sad because your missing out on about (95% of the music thats good) soo in reality you arent holding yourself to a higher standard yout just holding yourself back.

(there see no flame all fact)

That was funny. But Wierd Al is always funny even when he did "Amish Paradise". I never smiled during the original song.

Somehow it captured Kurt Cobain's essence perfectly.
He was a musical genius who didn't care if you caught his suicide messages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He jumped in flaming, Kyo. What the hell does a rational human do after that? Flame back after several patient posts. Been there, done that.

What people call "mainstream" is usually a classic before time has passed. If I had like Bob Marley when he was alive, would that have been liking mainstream?
Yeah, but 20 years later and I am thinking he is better than half the crap that comes out.

I know why he was flaming, too. Me and arx both pwned him by saying an unfinished anime couldn't be the best(and giving valid points why), and he probably took it badly. I don't know who made that rule but it is f***ing genius, being so simple, anyone could understand it.
Except him.
Posted 11/22/06
haha yea i do believe i started that argument and he quoted me first and then you and arx7 had to show him the light on that certain topic

Noob:

The 'noob', comes across as an angry, irrational gamer who insists his mistakes are deliberate, and who has to live with the "proven fact that they will never get laid".

What the fuck is this now? A friend of the loser from before? Or a completely unrelated loser?
The 'noob' attacks a person with one sentence about their character, usually off topic so as to be at an unexpected advantage. Usually posted against a multi-point argument that made them wish they were dead.

And sorry to ruin your definition, but the women I date, actually find intellect as a turn-on. not to mention I got the British accent.

I'm an abstinent, British-educated, black, pimping machine, in the prime of my youth. And you, well I'd best not say my opinion of you.

You know the people that brag about themselves are the people that actually wish they were like that. For you to even come out openly about you being....wait a minute....did you just say that you were abstinent? So....are you saying that you don't have sex after what you just typed. So that means your not a pimping machine unless of course you pimp your own left/right hand.
All I'm saying is that your a noob from when you said that Nirvana was classic rock. I'm not even paying attention to the other garbage spewing from your noobish brain. Your a person that believes he is right and that everyone else who has a different opinion than you is wrong. This my good friend is a close-minded person and they themselves are idiots.

You can be abstinent and still date you know. It's like a game. You show them everything they want, and then you leave when you almost have what they have, the thrill of the hunt. But an unsophisticated person might not get that.

I didn't say they were classic rock, I was only hoping they were on a classic rock station. How does that make me noobish? I went to the closest thing after alternative.

And what makes me close-minded? I'm starting to think you pulled this out of your ass.
Do you listen to opera, gothic, and obscure jazz artists and recommend it to your college roommates? These bastards are the most close-minded pricks on the planet. I am surrounded by Republicans! It's enough to want to rampage.

And why the Hell aren't we on topic? You know what? I'm going to sleep, but I'll see what load of shite you post here tomorrow. Good evening to you all.
