If you do a CR search for "Mononoke", you don't find The Princess. Instead, you get a page for the 2007 series directed by Kenji Nakamura. You even get a description, and an <Add> button to add it to your queue.

What you don't get is Mononoke. Adding it to your queue, doesn't add it to your queue. It does change the button to read <Remove>. There's no indication that this is a "no videos available" series, the way there is for so many others.

It's a real series, with its own wikipedia page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mononoke_(TV_series),

and it was reviewed recently on Metanorn
http://metanorn.net/2014/10/series-review-mononoke
so it's a shame that CR doesn't actually show it.

Me again. The situation is more complex, and more interesting, than my original post said.

As one might expect, when CR is preparing to post a new show, they create the usual page and links and so forth, but they keep them in a separate section/status, presumably available to developers only, until they are ready to go live. So Mononoke never disappeared, it was never there to begin with.

There's a slight flaw in their implementation of that approach. The title isn't available on the usual lists and directories, but it is available via search. That's how I stumbled on it. I presume it's due to lack of a "don't show in search" flag, or of a failure to set that flag here.

In any event, Mononoke's back, and CR's got it, and it's every bit as weird and wonderful as the artwork implies. I've watched two eps and I"m hooked.
