im asking this question because it seems that when ever new animes come out people just bash them and say they are bad, not even worth watching. its not only that it also seems that most people think anime should be some god like show thats 100% perfect, great story, great animation, great artwork. for me i tend to enjoy watching anime of all genres even if some of them werent the best i still enjoyed watching it. im beginning to think that with the majority of people criticizing some of these animes so bad its killing the industry. for an example on forums people will bash an anime and people who were going to watch the anime wont because of what people on forums said. leading to more and more people not watching which causes loss of money for the studio and diminishes the chances of a follow up series for people who actually enjoyed it. basicly what im trying to say is why bash an anime if you dont like it when someone else might actually enjoy it.

just to add one thing. there are multiple animes based off light novels that are bashed about its story and such but the story is actually really good. it just took 3-4 volumes to really develop the story. just for an example blade dance anime was bashed badly and which i will say it wasnt the best. however when i read the light novels i realized how good the story really was.

I really don't listen to the haters when I choose which anime I will watch because a lot of them seem to hate pretty loudly on shows I like (SAO, No Game No Life). I would rather watch whatever and decide if I dislike it for myself.

People everywhere don't like all kinds of things. I'm pretty sure the industry won't crumble because people bash on a few shows.

I generally don't like anime adaptations of light novels, but that's just me. Not that I think they're bad, though whenever I do watch one if feels like I'm watching the same thing over and over again in varying degrees, but... yeah I think my real beef are light novels themselves. That's another story for another time, though.

As for the original question...

People bash because they can. If you like it, then don't worry about everyone else.

I watch a ton of anime, seriously the amount of anime I watch can't be compared to the amount of live-action shows I watch now. With that said, sometimes I just have nothing to say about a certain show, but most of the time I save everything I want to say about an anime, and reserve it for my blog.

I wrote so many things to respond to this lol. Time to abridge my thoughts...

The same nerds who pick apart everything they watch are likely the same ones actually buying the Blu-Rays and supporting the industry. (I guess, in their own way, they enjoy watching anime that they don't like, because they like to finish what they started, because they like analyzing and complaining, etc.)

When I was a noob, I was more concerned with forming my own opinion and watching a show blindly, rather than listening to someone else's opinion before I decide to watch a show. I don't know if this is common, but I'm sure others are the same way. So what I mean is that the haters didn't really do anything to drive me off.

It's much easier to write insightful criticism than it is to write insightful and profound praise for a show. I think most people end up writing more complaints than they truly mean to in an effort to make a well written post.

LN adaptations really are kind of shallow and unoriginal though lol. Every thing post-A Certain Magical Index is really similar to the next thing that comes out.
