It all bugs me, really. Except pokemon, which I'm a huge fan of. It doesn't feel genuine. Kind of like a wannabe. What do you guys think?

I believe it's an American anime...though I might be wrong. Probably a bad assumption on my part.

Umm...from the top of my head I think Avatar and the Legend of Korra are American?? I don't know if you'd consider these anime though. I believe they're drawn in an anime-like style though.

Pokemon is 100% Japanese. When I think of edit:American anime only things that come to mind are Avatar/Korra and that piece of trash RWBY.

Anime isn't really American. Pokemon is Japanese, the term anime is used to describe Japanese animation. Also the "Avatar" series is just American cartoons with Asian influence mainly Chinese.

Just a dub from the same company that thought up this contraption...

The both loved and loathed 4Kids. They bought the rights and did a dub of the series.

"American anime" is a contradiction. Anime - the common usage of the word - is used to refer to Japanese animation
what you probably meant is English dubs of anime, which i'm sure there was already a thread about it somewhere.

some would argue that "American Anime" is an oxymoron

Yes...American manga is probably just as much as a paradox, if it even exists. But then wouldn't Korean manga have the same contradiction? It is, after all, not Japanese.
