BLACKOUTMK2

In my case I'll fairly admit that it wasn't really either of our faults. I just didn't see him coming due to parked cars blocking my view of his, nor did I hear his car and I went to walk across the road. Given he was an elderly man I doubt he was trying to live life on the edge, I was just lucky he was driving slowly :p

I actually hate people who walk across the road and just assume people will stop for them. It's people like that who get hit by cars and then complain when it happens. I was taught that unless it's at a red light then the car has the right of way; even then you should wait for the driver to stop just to be extra sure. Countless times I've seen people cross the road without waiting for a car to slow down, and I fear one of these days I'll see a person like that get hit.

Where I grew up it was common for people just to step out into the road any and everywhere. When vehicles make a sudden stop and the drivers complain there's those so bold as the dare the drivers drive over them (buses, trucks, any vehicle). It was also a habit of people to ignore the pavements and stroll in the roads. School kids would have one brave one who'd step out, cars screech to a halt then the entire school population crosses the road (anything from 500-1000). The drivers had to wait grumbling and some kids would taunt the drivers as they pass by. The first thing we learn when leaving the country is that anywhere else in the world that you try that and you're dead.

Oh yes, you've got to be careful. I've seen the odd person stroll out into the road too, and I wouldn't recommend it. I was surprised when one of my friends walked out into the road on my birthday. I was going to the pub with a few friends for my 18th birthday and he walked across the road because the light was red. Before I could open my mouth another one of my friends said 'Holy shit *friend's name* be careful' 'Why, the light was red?' 'Yeah but you've been where I live and you've seen drivers don't always stop'. I was quite surprised because he's generally responsible and careful, but he just strolled across and placed had full faith in the person driving and you can't do that. When it's you versus tons of metal and a potentially irresponsible stranger, the irresponsible stranger will generally come out on top.

Not hit by one but I was pushing my dads car off the road after a breakdown and he parked on my foot then got out of the car to see what I was yelling about.

My grandpa ran over my toes once. Luckily it wasn't the heaviest car, and he didn't go fast. Still, had trouble walking the rest of the day. Kinda felt like constantly stepping on Lego's and kicking a sharp edged table, at the same time.

When I was 11 I tripped over while running across the road and almost got hit by a car, luckily I didn't get hit but I had a bruised knee and a scraped elbow.

Nearly. I've wandered into traffic without looking and my sheer stupidity and short attention span have nearly caused cars to ram into me.

By my mom my freshman year of high school. Was waiting for her to pick me up and I jumped out in front of her. She did not stop, and I exaggerated the hell out of it by rolling off the hood. Poor teacher working out there that day freaked the fuck out (60 year old Irish guy, so you can imagine how funny it was) until I convinced him I was fine. My mom still gives me shit about it to this day "Why did you give poor Mr. Kelly a heart attack?".

I was... Tapped by one, I guess. My friends boyfriend was just messing with me, and gently pushed his car into my legs and I stumbled a bit.

Never full on hit by a car before, I'm very afraid of that happening.

Road accidents are very common in this world. Lots of people die because of these accidents. I have never hit by any car in my life but I hit a car from the side. It was the fault of that car driver. We should pay some attention to the http://biomedicalwastesolutions.com/what-is-ebola/ Ebola virus also so that people can get aware of this dangerous disease.

I almost got ran over at the grocery store. Yup. I started walking without looking back and forth, and this dude came speeding through the parking lot right in front of me. I guess we were both stupid. ᵀʰᵒᵘᵍʰ ʰᵉ ʷᵃˢ ᵖʳᵒᵇᵃᵇᶫʸ ᵗʰᵉ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ˢᵗᵘᵖᶦᵈ ᵒᶰᵉ ʰᵉʳᵉ⋅⋅⋅

I was hit by a car and my right arm(above the elbow) snapped in half like a tree branch, my face was also pretty beaten up initially and a couple of my teeth chipped. It was 4.5 years ago, I had humerus rod surgery on the arm and 3 months therapy to get it working again.Physical therapy wasn't enough so I would use a jump rope everyday.I Pretty much made a full recovery and have full use of the arm. Its a little bit weaker and scared, but has full range of motion and is practically as good as new.Luckily I was only 23 and in the best shape of my life when it happened.I also beep when I go past a metal detector now .

Ever had that moment when you're walking and minding your own business when suddenly a car comes out of nowhere and hits you? What was it like? Do you know anyone who has been hit by a Car?

I'm asking because this morning it happened to me. The light just turned green and I began crossing. First I looked to my right. Then, the very second I look the left, a car turns and hits me. I got knocked to the ground and rolled. I got up without a scratch. The driver and the lady in the passenger seat asked me like a dozen times if I was ok and if I wanted them to call help. I kept telling them over and over again that I was fine. Pretty interesting way to start off my day, huh? My butt and my left hand hurt a little but other than that, no real harm.

Like everyone else is saying please get checked out if you haven't already. I felt okay the day of with tons of bruising and an arm snapped in half, but the next day I felt intense pain throughout my entire body. Some times your body can mask the pain, hope you get yourself checked out.

I've never actually been hit by a car. Although when I was younger I ran into a parked car while riding my bike.
