Does anyone else get really emotionally attached to characters? It only takes me one to two episodes to get attached to one, and it feels like i've known them in irl and for a lifetime.
Am I the only one?

Not really, if things like anime, TV, or comic books have taught me anything it's not to get to attached since the characters can and will die any time the writers feel like it.

Yes. I can't help it. I watch a bunch of super tragic anime with a ton of death and i fall for every character. It's literally my worst habit. I'll fall into a depression and cry for days before getting over the death or whatever. You are not in anyway alone. :/

I've never felt attached with any female characters in anime yet (i honestly doubt i ever will), but in terms of anime males, I've definitely emotionally attached myself with some characters' :

Killua Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)
Kaiji Itou (Kaiji)
Yukio Tanaka (Beck)
Alibaba Saluja (Magi)
Makunouchi Ippo (Hajime no Ippo)

Certain aspects of each character draws a personal relation and understanding to a point where you subconsciously start inheriting the same emotional conditions (to some degree) that the character is experiencing (in my case anyway). Several times I mimicked the same emotional reactions that my favorite character has. It's a joy to find these characters, but it's heartbreaking to see them go whether it's from the anime being over, or their passing

I'm emotionally attached to a lot of terrible, morally corrupt male characters. It's hard liking the fandom blacksheeps.

I have found myself getting really worried over the thought of some of my favourite characters dying. Sometimes I also feel like I can relate more to fictional characters, as opposed to real people.

I do that to but most of the characters I seem to like are either barely in the show or end up getting killed off T.T

I always get attached. Thats the idea though to be honest. If you cant get attached to a character, they musn't of been very well written

The majority of anime has the main character or the supporting cast survive everything, so no I don't usually get attached. Please don't mention Clannad

When I first started watching anime it happened quite often, however it rarely happens nowadays.
