I've become a big fan of One Piece in the past few months. I've done a straight marathon from November to today in catching up with all the episodes. And although I expected to find out what One Piece really is, many of its clues have been cryptic and I still couldn't figure it out... until now.

I found a post somewhere that put together all the puzzle pieces we've found in the world thus far, and I'm willing to bet that this may be the true identity of what One Piece is. Outside of the Poneglyphs and the super weapon Pluton, the biggest clues to what it truly is may have flown over our heads at Fishman Island. Here are some big clues from that arc:

1. The massive ark Noah.
2. Poseidon and "its" purpose combined with Noah
3. King Neptune talking about how a grand plan involves all of the hidden ancient superweapons.
4. This clue was actually before this arc: Fishman Island is directly below Mariejois, the current capital of the world and where the World Nobles reside.
5. Sharley's prediction - and her predictions have ALWAYS come true.
6. And finally, this one may be a bit of a stretch, but it could also be a clever hint by Oda: Sanji's emotional outburst at Mermaid Cove, where he screamed, "I FOUND IT! MY ALL BLUE!"

With those in mind, ladies and gentlemen, I present the theory (someone else's, but I stand firmly behind whoever the author is) of the true nature of One Piece!

Let me know what you guys think.

I'm a fan of its the journey/friends theory. Nice troll moment from Oda but somehow fitting.

Someone told me Oda already explained that this will not be the case, and One Piece is an actual tangible thing that plays a big impact on the world.

If, however, this is wrong and the ending is what you've described after everything we've seen, then I'm going to be a very unhappy fan at the series finale.

Here's a link to a similar thread, the explanation gets pretty crazy.

This person may have been the original author of the theory I found, since he delved into all the details (the information I found was more of a summary). If this is how it ends, then One Piece may have one of the greatest endings ever planned to a shounen series!

Makes sense since the title is One Piece. All the seas form together to create one piece of sea

I really like how Oda snuck in an "X" on the world map with Reverse Island. It's creative.
