She made her bachelor's degree on witch-hunts in the medieval Europe. Regardless that the work she has been dealing with has been considered mainly as fiction; she has tried to sought to get to evidence to support her findings. Though she is somewhat religious, the path she is taking is distancing her from catholic beliefs.

One of the things that motivates her is the findings that during the academic research; she found out that some of her ancestor had faced the cruelty of witch-hunts, as in found guilty. But who knows, when the moth flies too close to burn it's wings.

Appearance:

Off-topic; for some reason humans do seem to be the most interesting entities in this world. Especially since the lore tips about the supposedly extinction of witches. (Imps.) Reading off that the world mirrors about the real world, it really brings depth to even take a normal person into the equation. And who knows, perhaps she really was offspring of witches and she has it in blood. Or her family was simply prosecuted simply by some drunk fool or who knows. Witch hunts were really an interesting time. Who knows what of that stuff is real. .-.

(If this seems a bit...messy, specifically the bio, excuse me for that. I'll probably come in when I have some actual free time and write this better.)

Name: Locke

Creature: Human (Who knows. Might change as I RP with this character.)

Age: Unknown to any. However, it could be guessed by his looks. So yeah, probably in his mid to late twenties. (If you want an ACTUAL age, just let me know.)

Weapon (optional): His weaponry varies depending on the situation. He does however always carry a silver cross on him. He feels it kills two birds with one stone. Along with concoctions of strange making, using ingredients from occult creatures, giving him some of the same traits as them. This however, is bad for his health, and the long-term effects are uncertain, each time he takes one, he is running the very real chance of dying. (Yay. Death counter dice rolls.)

He also carries along what looks like a large silver 'box' embossed with crosses and smelling of wolfs-bane on his back, which carries his various equipment. It is too much to carry alone and can only be carried with the strength offered by the previously mentioned concoctions. As such, he usually finds somewhere to store it and go to when needed.

Occupation (optional): Occult Researcher and 'Enforcer'.

Residence (can be a freelancer): He stays wherever he needs to.

Personality: Calm and stoic, can be serious at times but usually plays at being a joker, even if it isn't the right situation for it. It's made people mad at him in the past. Now despite making people angry at him with his humor for no other reason than feeling like it, he's actually pretty perceptive.

Bio: One could say Locke's whole life was filled with the occult and that wouldn't be wrong. He grew up listening to stories of the things that go bump in the night, or the day, as the case may have it be for some creatures. His parents were engrossed by the subject, eventually making Locke obtain an interest as well.

It wasn't often that he went around to socialise with the other kids, and when he did, he obtained a reputation as a pretty strange kid. This, however, did not bother him. He liked the subject, even if he was skeptical that it was all true. He was simply fascinated by it.

At about the age of ten, he'd soaked in quite the amount of information on subjects to do with the occult, but despite that, he failed to notice the strange behavior his parents had been displaying of late. They had always been quite the eccentric ones in the first place. See, they gave night classes at universities on a range of subjects, their favourite of which being the occult, as they were quite knowledgeable. It was a wonder they were even allowed to teach it.

Anyhow, it seemed to him that they were stranger than usual, their features alternated between this sunken, almost unnatural look, to their usual. He obviously didn't think anything of it, as they had always lived with a weird schedule for eating and sleeping. But, he should've taken further notice. One night they came home earlier than they would normally would have. Locke was awake, reading more on the occult until he was tired, finding it rather calming funnily enough. Once he heard their footsteps, he went to greet them.

What he saw, however, was his parents covered in blood. But it wasn't their blood. They slowly inched closer towards him, telling him that he could become like them, and how wonderful it was. He could immediately tell, they had lost their fucking minds. He turned immediately, sprinting towards his room. His father got a good hold on him for a moment, tearing through the boy's pajama and skin on his left arm. His father looked surprised for a moment at what he did, but only for a moment. But this gave Locke the chance needed to reach his room.

Tears welled up in his eyes as he half-sprinted, half-fell into his room, slamming the door behind him closed before locking it. At this particular moment, his mind had gone blank, he couldn't fathom what was happening. He just wanted to scream out at the absurdity of the situation and the monstrous pain in his left arm. But he was silent. It was as if his voice had gone and died on him. He could hear his parents slowly calling his name from the other side of the door. Beckoning him to come out.

This continued for a few more moments until a hand smashed through the wooden door, prompting him to pick up part of the bits that had splintered off with his good arm and impaling the hand reaching through before picking up another piece and jumping out the window. He didn't have a destination in mind, he just wanted to get as far away as possible and to somewhere safe. But it was night and he was bare-footed and injured. He wasn't going to get far. After a few minutes of running, he collapsed. The dizziness from blood-loss had finally hit him.

Still, though, he had a moment to breathe. Locke had thought he'd lost them, however, this was far from true. After about a minute, they had caught up to him. Was it even really a chase? They looked to be leisurely strolling about, as if nothing was wrong. They got closer and closer still, he closed his eyes in resignation to his fate, he had no fight left in him.

Suddenly, the sound of tearing flesh pierced his ears. He opened his eyes, only to see his father's head on the ground with a surprised expression mirroring his before fading away. Between him and his 'parents'. Was a towering behemoth of a man, easily seven feet tall. "You fools." is all this large man uttered towards Locke's mother and to the rapidly fading corpse of his father. The man grabbed Locke's mother by the neck and raised her up, causing her to violently attempt to tear away from his grip.

Finally, it had clicked. His parents were now vampires. How or when? He had no way of knowing. But...with that, he slowly rose from his feet, despite the large man telling him to stay down. Gripping the wood in his right hand so tight that bits of wood sticking out were now impaling themselves into his hand. Thoroughly convinced after what had just happened that his parents were gone, he ran past the man and impaled his mother in the chest, causing her gaze to drop to him, and with an expression that looked just like his father's face, faded away.

Immediately after, he collapsed, the blood loss finally hitting him hard. Little did he know at the time that the large man was one of the blood syndicate's 'enforcers'.(I may or may not introduce this other character later on, also, since I'm getting lazy and cutting corners, I'll end the Bio soon, I'll probably just go into some more detail in actual RP, depending on the situation.)

Fast forward many years later, he had made his name among the 'creatures of the night' known. If anything, you could essentially also call him an 'enforcer'. Despite his earlier years, he held no hate for these creatures, which must have been refreshing from the usual racism they received from other humans.

He took jobs which dealt in a range of things. Often, the most jobs offered would be to either stop other creatures or humans. And by stop, more often than not, this meant kill. But, if they couldn't live without slaughtering everything in sight or things that are different than them, as far as he was concerned, they'd earned their fate. Seeing as he was still alive, he figured either the blood-syndicate either didn't mind his presence, or he was of too little consequence to worry about, either way, he was glad for it. And for offering their jobs to a 'lowly' human.

Appearance:

Other: The line between magic and the occult is pretty hazy, man. But I guess that's just how it is. Also, I'll probably bring Locke into the RP injured, hence all the bandages in the character picture. He'll probably heal over the next few RP days, or weeks. Yes, I'm giving myself further disadvantage, fun, ey? Also, there is some more to his story which wasn't mentioned and will probably eventually be talked about in RP. Like HOW his parents became vampires, or about this enforcer and what his parents were involved in before going mad.

No worries about filling out the details, this is more than enough to start of and with that, congratulations on winning the achievment for longest bio here, possibly ever!

As for the differnce between magic and the occult being hazy, yeah. I would say "magic" as a verbal tradition died out when those who practiced it went extinct during the witch hunt, the wieard abilities and reactions to certain things many creatures posses are more natural features (to them) whose logic walks outside that of human science.
