Your opinion on mice.

Not rats, mind you, mice.
They are among some of the most unappreciated pets there are due to them being largely regarded so often as pests. I keep them as pets, albeit others buy them to feed to snakes. They're so cute!^.^

So, do you like mice, and have you ever had a pet mouse, ? Or do you see them all as vermin? Do you buy them for live food for a snake? I mean the kind you buy @ a pet store of course.

Good food for raptors, lizards and snakes. Breed, kill, freeze or live feed the young to your pets and send oodles of $$$ over the years.

Trackballs are better.

Hm, in terms of rodents, I've owned gerbils, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and chinchillas, but no mice... Unless you count the mice one of my cats was always leaving as presents for me.

Not sure if mice were excluded for a reason.. As a kid, most of the household's animals were smuggled into the home by my sister, so I'd have to ask her if there was a reason.

I buy mice all the time, specially when they run out of use and get dramatic.

They're cute.
Never owned any tho.
I'm not too good at handling animals that small, sadly.

My brother kept a pet snake for a friend for a few months. He told me that whenever he fed it mice, it was difficult for him. To get over the the cringe of sacrificing the mice to the snake, he sang "The Circle of life" (from Lion King). It reminded him, that all living things eat other living things in order to survive.

One night I woke up because the cat was under my bed bumping all around. I was half awake and it was dark and something jumped past my face but I assumed it was a bug or something so I swatted with my hand then went back to sleep. Then I woke up the next morning and there was a mouse sitting on the edge of my bed just standing there staring at me. I guess the cat caught it outside then brought it in. It was a tiny little mouse with a long tail.
I have 3 cats and none of them would catch it. I actually had to use my Jackrussel dog to chase it out of the house. That type of dog was originally bred to hunt down rats.

I think they are very small.

I used to have a couple rats as pets, they looked like big mice.
Very quiet, liked to sit in my breast pocket.

I think it's sad that you can buy poison specifically for killing mice and rats but if you asked for cat poison (feral cats are way more destructive),
you get lynched.

I used to have pet mice. Population control became an issue though. As for uninvited mice in my home, I occasionally see one (but not often) and when I do I can't help but think it's cute and scared and just trying to live its life like we all do, so I mostly just keep things clean and put food in canisters, and try not to get directly involved in any killing. (I live in a three-floor apartment building so I guess probably the landlord and other tenants do that dirty work)

But I like snakes too, and I would buy them and feed to a pet snake if I had a pet snake.

I'm not opposed to them but I don't think they're good pets for me.

I can't really do caged or aquarium pets. I just don't interact with them much and tend to forget them. Also, the rodent pets tend to cower and run away from me. I'm so much more a cat owner. type of person, even though I haven't owned a pet in a bajillion years.
