This. Never in my life have i experienced anything as motivating as the anime called Hajime no ippo. Even though this is complete fiction, just seing this guy called ippo makunouchi go through so much hardship and never giving up or running away to archieve his dreams, just really motivated me to follow his example and get my shit together.

I believe this is the effect sports anime can have and people, not just me. Also, Baby steps made me want to try tennis, and i love it so far.

Have you watched Champion Joe 1 or 2?Story wise I find it more enjoying than Ippo. Its an older anime, so if you only like newer stuff its probably not for you.

Well, the early Hajime no ippo episodes was pretty much where i draw the line as far as animation goes, so if it's worse, i probably wont be able to watch it x)

I enjoyed;

Kuroko's Basketball (liked Kuroko)
Free (like Makoto)
Haikyo (liked Hinata)
Yowapeda

I don't play basketball or like watching it for sport yet I enjoyed the anime. I do like swimming and I played beginners' volley ball when I was 11 and loved it but didn't get the chance to continue. I also like cycling. I don't consider myself a sporty person but I do prefer to play a sport than be a spectator.
