Madhouse has a really good track record. All the anime I've seen from them have been enjoyable and looked good. Their movies are top notch too.

Ufotable is a studio after my own heart though. The way they adapted Kara no Kyoukai is really impressive, and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works is like that significant other that spoils me with chocolates and kisses.

Bones is great when it comes to adaptations imo. Even if its anime catches up to the source material, their anime original endings are better than most studios I've seen that tackle them (see 2003's FMA and Noragami). And then they came back to FMA and gave us Brotherhood! Hope they do the same for Soul Eater and Noragami later on.

And A1 Pictures is great when it comes to slice of life and romance anime. Their action/adventure/fantasy stuff's good too, but it's their SoL/romance titles that shine above the rest imo. See Space Brothers, Silver Spoon, Polar Bear Cafe, AnoHana, Your Lie in April, Magic Kaito (not really slice of life, but romance is cute).
If you are curious of some of their action titles: SAO, Black Butler, Magi, Aldnoah.Zero, Fairy Tail, and a few more that I'm forgetting atm

Probably Madhouse, Bones, A1 Pictures, Ufotable, WIT and Trigger ("recent" studios with some success. I like a lot of KyoAni and White Fox, too, though. Studio MAPPA is off to a great start as well.

Madhouse and Ufotable are the only two studios that always blow me away.

I'd only add Gainax to this list.
