My cat LOVES garlic bread. But I heard garlic is toxic to cats, so I tried my best to keep it away from her. But she's sneaky and likes to take bites of it on the counter. She hasn't died yet, but I'm still keeping it away from her. That lil shit.

And my dog likes to lick food scented-soaps, and my deodorant. She's gotten in it a few times, and I have to keep them high up somewhere. I've wondered why that is. My other dog absolutely hates soap; if you put them near his face, he'll sniff it, but then awkwardly shift his head and body away from it with his ears down.

Does any of your pets like weird things of the sort? Or things that you consider would be odd for an animal to eat?

I'm sorry to say this but I'd seen dogs and cats eat their own shit.

I'd seen a kid picked his nose, shown this booger, and ate it.

My dad was walking my dog this morning. He spotted a lollipop- about a third of it eaten, on the ground. He fretted that my dog would pick it up. He looked up and away for a few seconds, only to look down at her again. The stick was protruding from her mouth and she was macking on the thing. My dad gave her a glare and she dropped it.

The other day, when I was walking her, she attempted to eat a browning banana peel off the road. And on a daily basis she tries to eat acorns.

My dog also has a thirst for live, hopping, mobile squirrel and rabbit, or the desire to use them as chew toys. I'm not sure which is accurate, so for now I say it's both intermixed.

My cat ate half a powdered donut when i was little. She broke into a Krispy Kreme bag of mini ones.

In addition, I've left a plate of crackers unattended, both cheese and turkey on top, and I've come back 15 minutes later only to find that she's devoured not only all the turkey, but half the cheese as well.

My cat is a spoilt little senile brat sometimes. Like "I'm an old woman, I deserve this human grub!" (She's around 15 now?)

My cat attempts to eat plastic grocery bags every time she gets near them... Like this one time she was messing with one and I found bite marks on the bag...

This other time, the same cat tried to eat a chocolate chip cookie when I was a little kid.

We used to have a cat who genuinely thought he was human. He didn't like cat food much, but would eat anything we were having.
He had a particular liking for doner kebab (shawarma/gyro) smothered in chili sauce.

He lived to be about 18, so maybe it's not a bad diet for Neko-chan!

As my cat gets older, coming up on 13 years, she's been wanting to eat anything and everything. Lunch-meats, bread, candy, you name it. Whatever falls on the floor and whatever someone has in their hand. I've seen her try to eat leaves that get inside the house too. And cardboard. Literary anything she can get her teeth onto. I think she's probably bored of dry cat food. Unfortunately her stomach rejects pretty much anything other that dry cat food.

My dog's eaten:

A poopy diaper
A bright red balloon (Guess what could be seen in his poop later.)
A solid plastic zebra toy.
A pair of my panties.
Popsicles and icecream.

I feed my dog human food. Usually leftovers of what I had for lunch/dinner. And they also like to eat whatever is edible to humans, even though it's considered bad/toxic for them. When it comes to food, it's whatever.
