I still find the old better than the new. So nay. Yet on the bright side, the new looks pretty good imo, so at the same time, yay.

Generally Nay here as well.

Now, it's not a big huge Nay as in "I hate it and stopped watching it long ago!" It's more of a Nay where I really doubt I'd be watching it if I didn't have an emotional nostalgic resonance with the series based on the original anime. The production quality really still is strangely poor given the property and I've never really come to like the different art style. I also find the story beats were largely better in the original. All told, I definitely don't hate it but I'm very much only still watching it because it's more Sailor Moon and not because it stands on it's own in any way.

I say YAY Yes Sailor Moon Crystal is being rushed a little and the Battle between Sailor Moon & Queen Metalia won't be as memorable as the one Usagi had with Queen Berly in the old version but I love how the Romance between Usagi and Mamoru is being portrayed. It much more cuter then the old version was and Mamoru shows much more compassion and understands Usagi emotionally. His old version was a little more cold towards her and seemed to worry about what other thought about there relationship :/ I honestly have no complain about this Reboot I'm very Satisfy and I can't wait to watch the Crystal Tokyo Arc it's my Favorite Arc tied with Stars <3

I'm not into it. I wasn't expecting it to be so cliche (and boring). Also, it looked so ugly, and I hated Usagi's voice. The only redeeming factor is the romance, and that in itself is cliche.

Another vote of nay here. I'm just not into the Sailor Moon franchise, so that partially explains my reasoning. But overall there's nothing special about this show aside from brand name recognition.

I realize it's desirable to remain faithful to the source; but really the old girl needs a bit of a make over.

I am not too hot about it. The animation isn't worth, or any better with the two week schedule. The story feels rushed and the characters are not engaging. Somehow, the Precure series are more fun to watch.

The series appears to have a lot of mystical Buddhist and Tantric influences buried within a magical girl show. That seems purposely intended by its original author.

Chakra marks in the forehead.
Reincarnation and Karma
The Four Guardians --- Shittenou --- The Four Heavenly Kings that protect Buddhist shrines.
Silver Crystal --- The Vajra
crystal transforming into a flower --- The Lotus

Gets really obvious when you "pray" to the Crystal (Vajra) in order to save the world. My Buddha, that's a fundamental tenet of Buddhism.

^ This. It was good that they incorporated a back story for her. Imo, I think both the new and old series have their pros and cons. It is what it is.

[Edit] Oh, and one thing I can't stand - Usagi's voice.... I understand that they got the voice actress from the original series to reprise her role, but she just sounds so....ugh.

Well, she's a woman in her late 40s who's voicing a 14/15 year old. Some can pull it off, but I feel like she struggles to maintain that type of voice that it just sounds really whiny - and not the cute kind

I was happy with it for what it was. I took it as it's own entity, and tried to enjoy it from that perspective. I like how faster paced this series is compared to the original anime, which can be a good and bad thing. Overall, I like where it's going and can't wait for Sailor Moon R!

nay i get that they want to stick to the manga but sometimes it just doesn't transition well.

*****SPOILER*****

That part when the princes knights die... the sudden cry of the sailors with no pause of disbelief didn't fit to well and the wand twirl seemed a bit lazy etc. but ill still watch since im a sailor moon fan and i saw all of the original anime's episodes
