I can always listen to the Yuru Yuri, Non Non Biyori and Engaged to the Unidentified OP and EDs. Though my favorite anime song currently is the Full OP to Tonari no Seki-kun.

I love how the song goes off the wall at 1:40

I listen to far too many anime sountracks for my own good, aha.

Some of my all time favourites include Wolf's Rain and Zankyou no Terror (as aforementioned, Kanno Yoko is absolutely incredible <3), Psycho-Pass, Anohana and Nagi no Asukara. I also adore sports anime soundtracks - there's just something about them that I can't get enough of. Haikyuu!! has one of the most glorious soundtracks I've ever listened to, and Free!, Kuroko's Basketball and Ace of Diamond are all incredible, too.

Recently I've fallen in love with the Ao Haru Ride OST, too, and the soundtrack for Your Lie in April is beautiful, also. I've been eagerly awaiting the OST release x'D

Another worth mentioning is Shin Sekai Yori's. Totally captures the mood of the show.

I could go on for hours, so I'd best stop myself here ;3;

Ooooooog.

Typically I just search out singles. Rarely have I been completely enamoured by a soundtrack that I go out and by the OST.

My favorites:

Cowboy Bebop. I actually own that snazzy 4-5 disc set with the kraft paper cover. It's very niiiiice

Macross Plus. Another Yoko Kanno Soundtrack. I used to listen to the one song, Pulse on repeat for 12 hours straight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQBvrGa9BlM
Voices also needs special mention: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOGJN9uYo5w

Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex (1 and 2) are more Yoko Kanno and absolutely superb. Where as with the last two, I have to admit there's songs I don't care for, this one was spot on. And here's where my list gets a little more interesting.

Serial Experiments: Lain, Cyberia Mix I'm an electronica fan. This was definitely from, i guess the "golden age" of electronic music, and it's got a little more dated feel to it, but it's still fairly solid. (the whole list via Youtube)

I think another reason for the draw to this is that it was also one of the first soundtracks out there from an anime (or anything else that was more of a collection of decent songs that could have been on a stand alone comiplation album. (which is kind of thing for me. I don't like listening to a soundtrack and judging it because of the anime. I honestly want to like the CD for itself)

And probably my favorite go to album would be Boogiepop Phantom
Also courtesy of Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgEtAVgf2Rk&list=PL1BF4A0D556CAFDB3
This soundtrack if I remember correctly got some pretty damned good reviews elsewhere as well.
In particular, I reccommend "Angel in the Dark" and "In Heaven"

All hail Yoko Kanno! She is an absolute musical goddess; almost anything she makes is perfection.

Preach man. I'm currently obsessed with Zankyou no Terror's sound track, which is by her. It's so great. I especially love the ending, which is hauntingly beautiful.

Also, I listen to Tsuritama's sound track whenever I'm feeling down because the tunes in there are so cheerful and uplifting.
