I find the idea of humans passing death sentences upon other humans to be odd, personally. I'm not saying that it's the wrong choice, I just think it's an odd thing to think about. One human passing judgment upon another, that is.

What if it turns out she is mentally ill or had a psychotic breakdown... It happens. Lock her up and throw away the key, sure. But death isn't something people should pass down in my opinion.

Without law and order there would be anarchy.

Leaning towards against. It's not so much that I care if a human deserves to die thou... that's not really why I'm against.

I find the death penalty to be horrifying. I don't like the thought of killing someone who has been caged up against their will and found guilty of something they may or may not have done.

I'm pro-life so I SUPPORT the death penalty. I think the system is pretty good at preventing an innocent person from being killed ...but that possibility is no excuse not to exercise the death penalty. Murderers sure work hard to keep themselves alive even if it is in prison - I say deny them what they denied others, but they need to make it quicker and limit appeals to TWO - it should not take more than 5 years (at the extreme) to remove their sorry carcasses from the earth; and I'm sick of hearing about the pain they may experience from a lethal injection - if only they would have had the same mercy on their victims. Though a chaplain should be on hand to minister to them and give them one last chance to be saved from a very REAL place called Hell.

If it is wrong for the state to enforce a death penalty, then it is wrong to enforce any law. The gallows doth wonderfully concentrate the mind, declared Dr. Samuel Johnson in the 1700’s.

I would support the death penalty for child rapists too.

The insanity defense should be nearly impossible to implement ...it is far too often abused.

I personally think it's stupid.

If I want justice; I'd rather that criminal lives while suffering than get an easy death.

Living is harder than death... (Unless u believe in imaginary places like hell, will u go to a Chinese hell or a euro hell tho?)

It costs more of my tax money anyways.

It costs more to execute a death penalty than to give a life sentence!

Heck, just lock 'em up and throw away the key.

LmaooOOOOOooo omfg this is incredible like how can someone blatantly say stuff like this? Might as well tattoo "massive idiot" on your forehead

On topic: First of all, how can someone support a murder (it may be "legal" if implemented but it's still constitutes as a murder) that costs more than keeping them in prison for the rest of their lives and setting up systems where prisoners can be productive and ultimately benefit society. The possibility of error is still an issue as well and being the way America is right now I'm sure you'll see discrimination between different cases and what not which wouldn't be ethical or fair at all... Like putting someone to death is outdated and not creative... hello

I would gladly like to see all Animal abusers and puppy mill farmers have a cactus shoved up their butt, then followed by being fed to the sharks.

I thought the words were "Thou shalt not kill" and not, "Thou shalt not kill....unless of course you decide that you are exempt.
In that case, just kill as you please"

It's barbaric and inhumane whether you behead someone publicly in a market place then post the video on the internet or, administer an injection in a secure environment in front of an audience of witnesses then keep meticulous records of the event!
