I am too scared to ride in the road, so I am one of those people that ride on the sidewalks... :-)

When you're driving a car and you're moving slow (not even going as fast as the speed limit), like in a package assembly line, you can cause problems, and even accidents.

So, what's the deal putting cyclists in traffic and treat them like they're riding motor vehicles? Is cycling another cult trend... I mean, bandwagon trend?

We got so many trends these days, but first, let me take a selfie.

It makes me cringe seeing cyclists even use the single white line at the side of the road, like they're not going to wobble onto little pebbles, stumble, loose control, and smack themselves on oncoming traffic and nearby surroundings. There's a sidewalk they could use to ride their bikes but they prefer to use that one (in the pic it's two, rare) white line. There are also people that just casually ride bikes and do what cyclists do.

There are places that cyclists can take the whole lane. But there are times cyclists just take a whole lane without proper designated lanes for cyclists. It's like really? Bloody hell. Are you so ballsy enough to collide your humanly flesh against metal covered vehicle(s) if chances could happened? Take a whole lane then fuck up an oncoming traffic will ya, you wanker.

Don't get me wrong. Cycling is a good exercise. But doing it on a busy traffic, in an urban neighborhood, where you know there are a lot of cars driving in and out, cycling is not a good thing to consider. Find a national park and go nuts cycling around it. Or get a stationary bike, or even a treadmill, and use it at home.

Lately, I'd seen several cycling accident reports colliding by cars or/and hit-n-runs. So yea, I don't know. Do you notice it?

Personally when they ride where there are no bike lanes, for example when they ride right in with normal traffic, they're asking to be hit. I'm all for saving the earth, but gov'ts need to get their shit in order and build more bike lanes, at least where I live.

If cyclists are going to ride on the road, I'm going to drive in the bike lane and on the footpath.

Bikes are very useful but need their own path. Sidewalks are for walkers, roads are for automobiles, designate a bike lane or built a separate path. Hate when a cyclist uses a regular road as their path.

I live too far to be able to bike somewhere and make it there on time within a reasonable amount of time given between.

If you live in a place where sidewalks aren't super busy, I think it'd just make sense to ride your bike on the sidewalk. People drive like maniacs here, even on sidestreets. My town doesn't really have bike lanes (since it's not a major city or anything), but I occasionally see a person cycle on the side of the road with lots of lights.

Sidewalks are for pedestrians.

If you are riding in the city, you need to be in a bike lane (of which there are plenty here) or ride with traffic. In Denver, it is a violation to ride on the sidewalks.

Over here in Colorado cycling is fucking everywhere, you can't go anywhere without seeing a group of people cycling.
It's especially a pain in the ass when you're in really tight road cause of the mountains and you're behind a person on a bike.
If only I can run over every single one of them.
