Ah I saw Mr.Repzion's video about this..........still don't see why he needed to be in his underwear to make a point, but whatever. Since when did how someone sits become a debate topic? Both sides are ridiculous for making this a thing. So a man spreads his legs a little bit to be comfortable....omg burn him. Also what's so bad about given someone space to sit down when there may be no where for them to sit....being a little uncomfortable for awhile won't kill a person. I really don't understand why this is a thing.

It shouldn't be a thing. Nazi-feminists made it a thing. Yet, they'd crucify a man for "manspreading", then proceed to sit down and place her purse or bag next to her, taking up a whole seat.

(Sigh, facepalm)And here I thought you were simply being humourous. I hoped you were, anyway, and not that it be about, well this. Another protest against radical separatist feminists and their heinous ways, and another thread about feminazis. We could forgive you for imitating senpai, but not this stuff again. C'mon you're better than that.~

I really only ever sit like that when the seat is too low. This is especially true after leg workouts or sprinting since my hamstrings may catch a cramp.

Why cant people sit however the flip they want? Specially if there is space, why does it matter lol...I sit like that. You wanna fight me?? Jk I'm all for peace

Yep,I knew Nazi-feminists made it a thing, but why give them the attention by responding? Aren't we to the point where we shake our heads, laugh, and never take them seriously? I mean come on how can we get mad at them for making a big deal about "manspreading", it's almost like they hit a new low. It almost feel like we are feeding the trolls.Still whether male or female if someone is taking up a seat that someone else can use(given there is no other place to seat) that person should make the room. It's just so odd that this has become a thing, but now I am morbidly curious at to what the next thing will be.

Also I love your profile pic. Eureka Seven was a fantastic anime.

Renton never manspreads.

Thats because he is going through puberty...

Holland on the other hand...

Is spreading legs supposed to mean their penis is more likely to lunge out at you or something? I don't get how one position of legs is more offensive or something than another. The OP image shows a guy, if he was sitting with his legs together, there still wouldn't be enough room for another person to sit there. Or sitting accross from him is worse than sitting next to him. It's like in that other thread about bathrooms, it doesn't matter how big the bathroom is it's what the sign on the front door says.

Well, of course you shouldn't do it, OP. Not like that. Clearly, you're supposed to manscape, don a mankini, and then manspread while writing or reading a manuscript.

Kill me now.

Horrendous puns aside, as long as there isn't particular crowding, "manspreading" shouldn't be a big deal. Who came up with the name, anyway? That position is "slouching with legs spread," simply one of the most relaxed sitting positions.

I don't spread legs, but I do stick out my legs sometimes since it feels weird having them bent so close. And also it helps stretch them out.

so just so you all know, the purpose for a man to sit like this, is to prevent rapid-heat build up, and hurt the testicles,
this prevent chances of loss of ability to have sperm,

just to add,
extremists in the feminst movement claim this is men forcing themselves into public,

"menamists" men fighting for mans right, states this should be fine when women put purses on a seat to themselves

pretty much arguement is stupid, stupid arguement,
let it die.

but some men do take it to far and spread legs wide apart

I am six foot, hairy, and broad shouldered. If I scrunch up and take as little space as possible it would still be like sitting with a shorter Chewbacca. If I sit normally, not this "manspreading", I spill into the next seat in most public transport. If I sit like in the picture I will nearly consume two seats. So I don't sit like that pretty much ever. I do like to stretch my legs out in front of me when space permits, but if not my knees are tucked under my chin like Donkey Kong in a clown car (which is also what I look like trying to drive my wife's compact car).

As a previous poster has alluded to, if you're trying to have kids, doctors tell you to sit with legs apart, wear loose clothes, etc. Body heat is enough to interfere with sperm production, it is the whole reason male bodies developed such that those bits aren't protected inside the torso like ovaries.

I like the purported ideals of feminism quite a bit. I am bothered when I see women or men claiming to be feminists trying to tell women that the way they want to live is bad because it "sets women back" or it "reinforces gender stereotypes". From what I gathered the point was to make the gender roles optional, not eradicate them. I also don't like to see trivialities made into talking points by any movement. I have seen a lot in the media lately that is making it very hard for me to take the modern feminist movement very seriously or to recognize it as having anything to do with the purported ideals that spawned it.

But calling morons out becomes necessary when some other moron apparently decides to make their will law https://www.change.org/p/toronto-transit-comission-don-t-allow-the-ban-on-man-spreading-on-the-bus-train-to-pass

It´s like ISIS (or ISIL now?) As long as they want to chop each other´s hands of for stealing candy, fine, not my problem. When they start conquering countries and slaughtering civilians, then it becomes time to ausradier them -_-

Obviously, this is not ISIS, but I just mean to say that you should hammer the crazies back into place when they threaten to get too much influence...
