About a week ago Nintendo released a trailer for the newest Fire Emblem game! Very little is known about the game, but seeing as how I was under the impression that FE: Awakening (released in early 2013) was to be the last FE game, the announcement and release of this new trailer has got me very excited

If you own a 3DS and haven't played FE: Awakening, remedy that immediately! It's pretty much the reason that I bought a 3DS. (that and Ocarina of Time)

Considering that Awakening didn't get a NA/EU release date until almost a year after it's Japanese release, I honestly wouldn't expect the newest game on foreign shelves until sometime in 2016, which leaves you plenty of time to play Awakening

Below is a link to the trailer. Enjoy!

Put over 300 hours into Awakening but in hindsight it was probably my least favorite FE. Don't get me wrong it's still a phenomenal game but the cast( especially the villains) really lacked any sort of meaningful character. While the 2nd generation/child system was cool, it made nearly every support bland. The only ones that gave any sort of backstory were Lon'qu and Cherche and maybe Gregor and Tharja.

Critical animations were also pretty awful.

All in all though, I still loved the game but I hope the upcoming games brings back some of the older themes in the Fire Emblem genre. But again this is all just my opinion

I was real surprised to see it. When's SMTxFire Emblem? It felt as if we just got FE:A even though it came out 2 years ago...LOOK THEY HAVE FEET NOW

I'm hoping the story will be better; as much as I loved its cast the main storyline of Awakening was pretty basic. The Future Past DLC actually had a more interesting plot...

I'm also hoping they'll fix a few gameplay elements. I see that pair-up is back and I'm okay with that, but it gives the player way too much of an advantage. In other words, I want them to balance it out a little, since there really isn't any reason NOT to use it in its current state.

That being said: HYPE HYPE HYPE

I'm kind of hoping that the new FE will only work with the new 3ds and I can justify buying it. Sort of like how FE:Awakenings forced me to buy my 3ds XL almost 2 years ago. Bastards.

Awakening is the only FE game that I've played and I loved it. If the older FE titles are better as I've heard many people claim then I'm really looking forward to the newest entry. Perhaps they'll include whatever it is that made the older titles so good, while keeping what I loved about Awakening. With only a trailer to go off of I suppose we'll have to wait a little longer before we start to get a decent idea of what the newest game will be like.

I'm pretty sure I have an older 3DS (could be wrong) but I was able to play Awakening on it. It definitely wasn't the XL though.

The new 3ds LL or what ever it's going to be called comes out Feb 13th. I'm still debating if I should buy it or not. I'm getting a lot of play time out of my Vita. There will be some games that will only work on the New system like Xenosaga. If the new Fire Emblem will only work on the LL that will be my excuse to buy one. Though depending on how Xenosaga looks that might be my excuse. I don't actually need an excuse but let me have my foibles. Heh.

Regardless of which game is the must have the XL version will always be a must have for me. I wish there was a XXL. A 7 inch screen would be awesome. I've been carrying around a 20+ lbs backpack for (oh god I'm old) the bulk means nothing to me.

Been with this series since its U.S. debut (The Blazing Sword, still my favorite), and I greatly enjoyed Awakening, so I am looking forward to another one like that.

That would be so awesome if your decisions impacted the story!!! I also really liked the whole marriage/offspring system so hopefully they find a way to implement that into the game.

I think the children function is specific to Awakening only, since that story revolved around time travel.
But I hope you can pair anyone with anyone again in this game lol :D

I burned myself out with the two GBA titles. Played them. Replayed them. Played through their hardest modes. When I tried to get into Path of Radiance, I got halfway through it and my desire just up and died. Every attempt to continue on felt like homework from college: yawning, lack of attention, dozing off, and the sloppy formations I created as a result kept forcing me to start over the battles, making the experience that much more agonizing. I don't have a strong urge to play Awakening, or any other FE title anymore. I'm afraid it will just be a waste of my money if I give the series another go. I'm sure the new titles are wonderful, but I rather have another Advance Wars. I really oughta pick up Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.. It looks charming.

Don't forget that there's TWO versions and a 3RD dlc story. Each version is supposed to be as large as Awakening though. As long as they don't have much in common, I'm fine with it. Buy 1 version, get the other as DLC for a heavy discount of $20. The 3rd dlc story will likely be $20 too. So $80 for 2-3 games worth of content.

Also leave SMTxFE out before a war starts.

Let's hope for a limited edition Game+Limited Amiibo *^* (maybe in large production, if you know what I mean)
The game itself looks gorgeus, and the animation cuts look superb
I just can't hold back my hype!
