Mushishi, Monster, Darker than Black, GitS:SAC, and xxxHolic represent a good variety of them. This season Tokyo Ghoul sqrt(A) and possibly Death Parade would fall into that group. Not sure if Garo counts as seinen or shounen.

Comedy though? xxxholic I see there, but the rest don't fit that mold.

Darker than Black has some really hilarious parts, particularly the satire of anime/manga and noir detective stories.

I was more listing a variety of ones with limited fanservice and good stories.

So I actually have a complaint that is relevant to this discussion, I dunno if I'm the only one who feels this way, or if I'm just looking in all the wrong places, but I'm pretty dissapointed with the lack of interesting Seinen. Every time I watch something classified a s Seinen, it ends up being the kind of nearly plot devioid fanservice packed crap that Gourmet Girl Graffiti is (I'm sorry in advance to whomever i just offended).
I'm always hoping for a show that is has a more developed sence of humor and a more subtle and compelling story.
again, I might just be looking in all the wrong places.

Every show has fanservice to some group of people.
imo What you've just asked for is pretty vague.
Have you tried gintama?

Basicly, I'm complaing that almost all of the Seinen I have had the (mis?)pleasure of watching has been really heavy on the fanservice and really light on the plot.

Seinen is really just a target demographic, but shows targeted for that demographic can be categorized as having aspects that appeal to that demographic, and one of the things that does appeal to grown men is naked women. However, it can be difficult to go the other way. Shows with naked women aren't necessarily seinen, and many shows that don't necessarily seem like they would be seinen actually are. It's entirely possible you've seen some good seinen shows that you didn't realize were seinen.

To list a few examples of seinen series I've seen that seemed to have a more balanced ratio of fanservice to story, there is...

Arakawa Under the Bridge
Black Bullet
D-Frag
Gingitsune
Brynhildr in the Darkness
Golden Time
Hanasaku Iroha
Inari Konkon Koi Iroha
Humanity Has Declined
Kamisama Dolls
Unbreakable Machine-Doll
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
The Third: The Girl With the Blue Eye
Witch Craft Works
Yumekui Merry

FYI, I didn't double-check to make sure all of these are seinen. Most were pulled from MyAnimeList's database of shows tagged as seinen.

I got that bit. I'm wondering if I can help you out on that.
it depends a lot on the show, and what you expect from it.
Like, NGNL and Problem children have fanservicy plots,
Sora no otoshimono sneaks a plot in when you're going for PLOT.
and then there's stuff like to love ru, which is something you know why you're watching if you're watching it, and that's what you're getting.
The first step is figuring out exactly what you want.
Kaito kid has humor and little fanservice, Wagnaria has humor and little fanservice, servantxservice has humor and little fanservice. I'm sure there are plenty of mecha shows with humor and little fanservice.
*Actually, and I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, try Baccano.

yeah, i ususally know what I'm getting into when i start a show, it just gets frustrating.

The others are a mix with a few for females!

But here are a few that are more neutral or mixed evenly !IMO

Sanzoku no Musume Ronja
Seven Deadly Sins
World Trigger
Assassination Classroom
Durarara!!x2 Shou
Death Parade
Gundam: G no Reconguista
Gundam Build Fighters Try

For me it's the way the story is bolted together:

Perky, cute everygirl is going though bit of loneliness and self-doubt. Grandmother that raised her recently deceased. MC also worried about her non-existent love life. Her only passion, cooking, no longer brings any satisfaction.

She meets a free-spirited but naive cousin. There's bonding, family drama, laughter, and lots of cooking. MC gets closer to her family, develops extended circle of female friends. By the end of the season she'll have confidence, joie de vivre, and be ready for her exciting leap that we'll never see.

It's adapted for tv with a bunch of animated megryans --cute but not threateningly attractive.

It still sounds like it's supposed to be chick lit. It's seinen, so obviously it isn't.

I'd only seen the first two images, and yeah they did seem odd. I thought they were an anvilicious comment about good food and friendship being as pleasurable as romance and sex. Or that she was sublimating and it would work into a romance plot later in the season. Mostly weirdness not fan service. Probable confirmation bias on my part.

I haven't seen Free. My understanding is that it's primarily fanservice for people that like hot boys.

I think people take some things a little too literal when i mention girl anime. Half the harem* anime are bi gender sure. But in the end the genre in general seems to be leaning way too far into harem, cooking, girl bands or ecchi in general. That was my point and it has not always been like that. Someone up above made a fair point though of winter season kind of brings the so-so titles in general. I just prefer a little more action or comedy over the panty flash. As I look through the updated titles that is all i see as of late excluding a handful of titles

I'm pretty sure no one was offended by your opinion that there was less anime you liked, we were offended by the way you presented it and the connotation associated with your choice of words. Again, "lack of content because of pandering to females". What part of this does not sound condescending and discriminatory?

What you opened with implied that if an anime was targeted to a female audience it must be utter garbage and how dare CR endorse that. Add to this the fact that you appeared to have no idea what you were talking about since most anime is targeted toward males and you came off as an ignorant jerk. But, given your later and better composed posts, you are not.

Iam sure whatever the hell you are looking for is there but you just can't find them. I have that problem a lot too. It sounds like he is trying to find shows like school rumble or the world god only knows. I haven't really looked at this season or last very much but I can't say if there are is anything like those shows or not. It looks like there are some of those like shirobaka? I haven't seen it but looks funny probably. I mean from when I first started watching anime there has been an increase in girl moe anime (or I am just more aware of it) but it hasn't been that bad. Also there will always be fandom hijacks like jojo lol (although you don't really see it in the west). Anime doesn't really belong to anyone, so just try to find what you like, but don't think that others are destroying it for you because really they aren't. What anime do you have on your que that you are watching? that will give us a hint as to what you want. Cause I don't really know what you even like lol.

Fafner exodus, Isuca, GTO(for the 5th time lol), Samarai Warriors,Testaments of New Sister Devil, Magic Kaito, World Trigger, Terraformars,Parasyte and alot more. I'm pretty diverse in what I watch, but you hit the nail on the head already with "I mean from when I first started watching anime there has been an increase in girl moe anime (or I am just more aware of it)". I don't say this in a mean or condescending way, just a more direct way I guess. People can be mad if they want because this is the internet and there will always be those people, but I agree with you that maybe we are just a little more aware of the change lately. My personal preference Mow is always action, blood, vampire, suspense and the like if it has a good story. CR has a lot of fantastic anime, but this winter seemed skimpy to me compared to the past few years I've been subscribing for my taste. The last few upcoming titles that have popped up the last few days has made me happier though like Kurokos Basketball, and JoJo (which if you know more like this I would appreciate titles), and fafner exodus and its like. Durarara and GTO are cool additions but nothing new. Maybe we can get lucky with the retro anime's and they will bring S-Cry-Ed or Outlaw Star on board as well (just talking not suggestions before someone says wrong forum) I subscribe to sites for new anime though mostly because I've been watching this stuff since Gigantor was on the sci-fi channel and a site like funimation proves that there are still new action packed, make your girlfriend mad, and slap Bonjour Sweet in the face animes to be had. And once again, I love diversity!! CR needs all kinds of anime but you said it better with the shift away from what I descrived has been noticed.

When I saw lack of content, I came in to agree. I feel that there are a good number of older anime series that are not available on here that I would love to see again.
