As the title says, any Lucid Dreamers in here?

I have been catching up on Log Horizon, No Game, No Life and similar anime and got to thinking how this sort of full immersion effect might be replicated through Lucid Dreams. So if anyone has tried this, please share your experiences and success/failures or general non anime lucid dream stuff.

For any who don't know, Lucid Dreaming is a state in which you are aware that you are dreaming and have some degree of control over its content and your actions,
its pretty amazing! It can come to people randomly or you can increase your chances of experiencing it through certain methods of practice.

I'll start by my experience a few nights ago,

I became lucid through a WILD and so I was dreaming of my bedroom, I thought id try bring up a floating in-game menu (How they do in SaO) but it was really working, so i tried pushing my finger on something solid (a wall) and it kinda worked, but the text was unreadable and constantly changing.
I gave that up and tried putting my self in a game environment, I find it hard to change surroundings unless I have some sort of transition, so I imagined a world similar to Skyrim that I could enter by my bedroom door. I can tell when this works by a bright light shining though the door gaps, so I went through and it was pretty frigging sweet! I remember being in landscape similar to the games starting area but at this point I woke myself up with excitement.

It wasn't greatly successful but I'm pretty excited about trying new things! Also any suggestions on what to try would be fun too.

Thanks for reading!

Well, only one that I can remember. And I'm not even sure if it WAS a lucid dream. I used to have nightmares literally every single night, and most of them were pretty scary. Once I had yet another creepy dream, where I was in this endless white void. I kept walking until I found a giant hole in the ground. Then there was this headless doll walking towards me, and it's neck was bleeding. Suddenly a voice told me to "change" the doll and to throw it in the hole. I didn't know what this meant, so naturally I started panicking. As it started getting closer, the voice kept screaming the same thing over and over again. I closed my eyes, waiting for the end. When I opened them, the doll had changed into a Pokemon plushie. I pushed it into the hole and watched it fall. Then I woke up.

No more food before bed.

Once in a blue moon they happen. I've had them where I re-played through my entire day, but did things differently to see how they turned out.
I have also had some where I thought I was in a couple different anime. These kinds of dreams are what I think VR (Virtual Reality) will become.

I lucid dream every once in a while but I've stopped deliberately trying to because I've lost the ability to control my dreams during lucid dreams - despite knowing that I'm dreaming. In a sense this is because there are certain people who don't appear unless by accident.

Well that is pretty scary! That fact that you changed something in the dream could indicate it was lucid on some level. You should try it again maybe in a nicer dream. :D

Eucku

I agree about the VR comment, kinda worries me aswell!

Wow thats unfortunate, I wonder what the reason is? Have you tried resolving this?

I dont really know if i can call it lucid, but i have VERY vivid dreams were i remember almost everything.

Sometimes it feels so real that I think its real life (Except most of the time its pretty fantasy orientated).

I feel as if im controlling it sometimes too

This could be Lucid Dreaming your experiencing. Often when you don't know what it is it can be confused with real life until you wake up. The trick is noticing the unusual aspects of the dream, such as the fantasy element. That really starts the ball rolling. I think you should try experimenting with this if it happens again!

I posted yesterday about how vivid I remember my dreams occasionally. They're not lucid, just really, really, real feeling, to the point it's almost the same feeling as real life.

Remembering your normal dreams is key to lucid dreaming. If it interests you, look into it. You could pick it up quick.

Yeah maybe. I think dreams are really fascinating, and really important to the person, I guess you could say. You dream what your mind knows but cant express in reality, so it plays it for you.

How awesome is that?

i've had a couple lucid dreams. the one first one i ever had was really weird. it started out in my old middle school cafeteria i was running from some monster. i started panicking so i start pinching my self to see if was a dream and the i realized didn't hurt so therefore it must be a dream. so then i decided to try go to the beach but nothing happened. so i was stuck in dark middle school cafeteria and im bored to death so decide i wanna wake up but didn't know how, so i start beating myself up thinking that would wake me up. yeah not the best plan anyways after that i lost control over dream and i dont remember how it ended

It'll be great if I remember my dreams... When I woke up I know I dreamt of something cause I feel happy or sad or rage, but the thing is I can't remember what my dream is about or the people involve... But irl when I encounter something it feels like deja vu...

typically I do however in order for me to induce lucidity I need to do a before during and after routine with sleeping and typically it just becomes a hassle. So when I intend on having a lucid dream I typically have one.
