Throughout my life I have had first-hand experiences with people who are extremely depressed. Some of which whom have contemplated committing suicide.
I hate how it is a common trend for people to be sad all the time.

However, I've been wondering, what kind of person would be most affected by this?

I'm sure we've all been sad in our lives, we've all had regrets and things we want to change. I know I have many times. It's always hard to cope with.

How do you deal with it?

EDIT: I'm sorry if I used the word "trend" in the wrong context.

My life has been nothing but one regret after the other.
So to cope with these stirring feels, I try to go back and fix the problems.
If it can't be fixed...well, I just try to move on and make up for it.

By helping others with their own issues or I just find a hobby to distract myself from it.
There's always a way for each person to find a way to fix their own problems.
It might hurt, but that's just how things work I guess...No pain no gain...I think. V:

I used to be very depressed, especially in high school where i had no friends. (literally none, not even on the internet. I must have had or still have a personality disorder) After high school, and getting the job i have now i decided i wouldnt be sad anymore. So now i just smile and laugh all the time, at stupid little things and at everything. I laugh, joke, and smile constantly so that i cant be sad anymore. I have a horrible smile, but i dont even care. Having decided that for myself, im making a lot more friends now and having great times and its given me a better attitude and outlook on life. OFC, i still get sad or even as far as depressed at times. But i shake it off now.

My depression is not due to chemical imbalance. So I know how to treat it myself.

there have been days where I've just laid on my bed and listened to music, not even getting up to eat but that's in the past now.

Volunteer work has helped me a bit. A lot of people I've met while volunteering have been pretty cool.
