No, it doesn't offend me because its such an unoriginal generic insult. I would only get offended by something personal

I'm much more affected by pretentious body language and aggravating behavior than I am by a mere display of a middle finger.

Whenever someone uses it, I just think: "Hey, something wrong with your throat? Can't talk or something?"

This is probably due to the fact that I see it on the road more than anywhere else. People that do it are usually the terrible drivers who think it's okay to take up three parking spots. And they do it since there's no risk to themselves, unlike if they do it in person. So I've come to recognize it as an announcement of their own stupidity and cowardice. It makes me feel amused rather than angry.

It's high school behavior yet there are actually adults who do this. I'll be maintaining a speed 10 MPH above the speed limit and I will be in the right lane, leaving the left lane open. They'll tailgate me for 3 blocks, then switch over to the left lane angrily, then floor the gas and peel out while flipping me off. I can usually hear loud, crappy rap music from their open windows. I laugh. More often than not, I catch up to them while they wait at a red light.

There was one time when the guy actually did that and got pulled over by a cop in the left lane behind him immediately. It was so satisfying.

Hey look, I was in the military for a few years. Harsh language and gestures mean practically nothing to me.

I do, however, get offended when people are being disingenuous (e.g. people saying they're sorry while pulling the most obnoxious moves when we're playing cards), though I usually hide it behind my dry sense of humor. It's behavior more than words or gestures that riles me up.

If anything it makes me laugh because the first thing I think of is the old thumb biting thing.

Because its the longest out of all my appendages, even longer than my 10mm arms and chubby cankles. JK

I actually don't now why it offends some people. But you could always jsut brush them off, especially if its some random arse you don't know on the side of the street.

Nope not at all. I mean I'll use it to show someone I'm pissed at them, or if a stranger does something incredibly rude to me. I know lots of people do the same. Wouldn't ever start a fight or flip out over someone flipping me off XD

An extremely weak will is required in order to take offense or be hurt by fingers and words.
