Is 4K ever coming to Crunchyroll?

So what do you think? I also don't mind paying more for the quality.

I don't have 4k monitors... so it'd be a useless feature for me.

I can't even load 1080p with my internet connection hence 4k would be useless to me. And I don't even have a 4k monitor.

4k is too powerful for Crunchyroll although I would like it to come. Actually does any service that streams uses 4K except amazon?
1080P is already too powerful. 480P is the one I generally use.

No because I can't think of one anime show that is 4k native. It would be useless. Maybe when more and more shows adopt 4k, then we can talk. I say give it another 2 years for 4k to be a norm.

What's a waifu?
Husbando? A Mexican husband?

If you want 4k now you should somehow singlehandedly stop all of the US ISP shenanigans including them defining 3-6mbps as "high speed"... If they had their way everyone would have that speed with a 30GB data cap. Unless you are one of the lucky few you can only dream about gigabit internet in the US... hell I can't even get 100mbps where I live.

Until that is taken care of there wouldn't be a big enough 4k capable market to justify the costs to even offer it as an upgrade.

No anime is produced at 4k yet in two years you will be asking for anime in 8k so. The big thing is broadcasters in japan and in the rest of the world can't broadcast in 4k yet ether as they have yet to define a 4k video compression method they can agree on. good news on the Disc format though Ultra-hd blu ray is ready to go so thy might start makeing anime in 4k sense they will be able to sell discs in 4k now and yes we would have to pay more for 4k as the bandwidth it would eat up and the fact that Crunchy would have to upgrade there data center to handle the load.

nope, first off dem tvs is damn expensive, second barely anyone would have the internet connection speed required for 4k, and third as others point out no anime yet is made in 4k and probably won't for quite a few years till the technology becomes much cheaper to produce.

4k isn't coming for a LONG number of years, hell, I just finished a short today and we were shooting 5k on an Epic, and even there we're not sure if we'll need a 4k final cut or if we'll finish it in 1080p. I've shot on a couple dragons at 6k and honestly on 99.9% of the screens I get to look at... which tend to be pretty high end screens, I *still* don't really see a use for 6k resolution.

Arri's Alexa is pretty much a television and film standard at this point and even that isn't true 4k yet. You do not need 4k, you barely can tell the difference, it's like the whole "megapixel" craze, the limiting factors rarely are the resolution.

You do not need 4k video. You really, really don't.

Edit: Actually now that I think about it, we'll almost certainly have a final cut at 4k... since it will be played on large screens, but still, 4k is by and large useless for most video watching.
