Konnichiwa minna-san!

I´m looking at watching the classic mecha sci-fi series space runway gideon in my final week of vacation, but is it any good? Is it worth the time? I know it´s a classic, I don´t mind if it looks old, but is it good fun, given that I love meccha and cool battle scenes? :3

Ideon – not Gideon – is a classic '80s Tomino anime, meaning that it is a mixture of deep flaws and awesomeness. It has two key weaknesses (IMO):

1.) The anime is a lot longer than it needs to be, and the best moments are in the two movies that end the series.
2.) In most areas of the world (outside Japan), it is not legally available.

Not on the same level as classics like Dunbine and L-Gaim (same creator), but worth watching. And, as happened for Gundam, do not let the happy theme song fool you, as Ideon can get very, very dark. How dark, you ask? Let me put it this way: The title robot

We all know no-one, well at least not me, is ever going to care about number 2 XD

But number 1 sounds like a real problem XD I don´t like to spend lot of time on something which is only good for a very small period of that time. I might still watch it tough. I also still have to watch the original gundam, which of these two would be the most fun to star twith, you think?

Original Gundam, especially if you do the movie trilogy instead of the TV series, since it cuts the sillier, less necessary parts of the show (IMO). Much more consistent than Ideon, if less dire and doomsday-ish. ... That, and watching original Gundam will give you added enjoyment if you get into Zeta Gundam later. (Definitely watch the entire TV series on that one; it's one of the best Gundam shows, if not the best, though I personally rate V Gundam very, very slightly above it.)
