Yesterday, my favorite YouTuber, Kitty0706, died because of cancer. I found out this morning when one of his friends, DasBoSchitt, tweeted about it. I really shocked me because Colin(Kitty0706) seemed to enthusiastic and I'm pretty sure he mentioned being absolutely fine in his most recent Google+ update. Either way, what is your opinion about this, and how did this reflect your day? Hope to see some nice comments from you guys. I know you're supportive. <3

In case you don't know who Kitty0706 was, check his YouTube account. It's pretty self-explanatory.

People seem to care more about a famous person's death than a regular person, for some reason.. still trying to find it.

Shouldn't really be a surprise, people these days care more about Taylor Swift's belly button than ISIS.

I wish him the best in the afterlife, it's sad because I could tell he was a nice person.

I don't know the gal.

Would people value me more if my face is on a video screen?

You don't seem to understand. Kitty0706 was like a dear friend, and his videos always cheered me up and helped me through some tough times. Oh well, I guess that sums up life. There's always a point in your life where some of your family members or friends die, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it unless you decide to commit suicide.

As for a famous person's death, it's obviously different. If PewDiePie died tomorrow, I'm pretty sure it'd be a big deal. But that's completely fine. If we'd start writing about every single person's death, people would start to ignore each other and eventually forget about death itself.

Either way, hope you understand. No hard feelings.

Used to watch his Moments With Heavy, but other than that didn't watch much that he released.

It's terrible that he passed away, though.

I'm sure you're doing it for the right reasons, that's why you went through the trouble of getting a GIF for your post, and no one is contesting the fact that you put that random person on a pedestal, but creating a thread about that person and asking for people's support is obnoxious and annoying, and if pewdiepie died tomorrow, it would be more of a big deal if i didn't have my pancake syrup in the morning for me, because i don't prioritize people's importance based on how many worshipers they have or because their face is on a screen.

You might want to calm down. I made this thread to see people's opinions about it, and I've clearly understood that you don't give a damn, but please don't be an ass and post comments about how much you hate this thread and popular people. Also, if you'd stop arguing and telling me about your delicious pancakes with syrup, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anyway, I got your opinion, so it's cool. Really, you don't need to post a message with the exact same point twice.

Oh fuck the Team Fabulous 2 guy? Damn that sucks. I didn't really watch many of his videos but that one was amazing. I hope his family and friends are doing okay.

It doesn't matter if they are famous or not. Someone died. That's fucking depressing. Especially if it's from cancer. I lost my grandfather to lung cancer.

people mourn for the famous because the famous have touched their lives in one way or another, whether its through entertainment, science, etc.

it's not all just a popularity contest, these people are popular because they touch many lives one way or another. when they die its often cathartic for their fans to commiserate about it.

Death always sucks. I've never heard about this guy, but clearly he was too young to pass away already, with an entire life ahead of him. I don't really care that he's dead, since i didn't personally know him or anything. I don't have it in me to care about every single persons death, that would ruin me. But he clearly meant a lot to you, so you have my sympathies.

It's sad that he died. I have personally not watched any of his videos, but his family do have my condolences.
