I actually didn't like most of the show. It felt to me like it was trying to push the whole 'everyone dies a bloody death' shtick a little too far. This is not my type of bait, I am not that type of fish.

Cross Ange was a somewhat similar show that I could bite at. It felt very experimental, trying out new ideas, and I really liked that.

The Anime was great and very loyal to the manga right up until around episode 21 after that was rushed all to hell and spewed in a 180 degree turn from the manga. Leone shouldnt have even died that way in an alley without attempting medical aid was fucking stupid. and the emperors weapon was retarded as well. Oh well. Least we have the manga thats still ongoing! its going a lot better and a lot more badass! They could have easily made the anime two seasons with no trouble. maybe they ran out of money?

yeahhh I hope soo as well,i hope we get it in the next 2 or 3 years, did you like the anime original ending for akame ga kill ??

Not really It was like you said, just chopping characters out left and right, and leaving the strangest characters alive at the end. Made no sense.

lol ikr, smh we can agree on this I know lol but.. I mean Tatsumi , Lubbock, Mine, Leone, Chelsea, Susanoo, , they all died within the last 6 episodes.. No sense whatsoever to their deaths, im still trying too figure out how Tatsumi and mine died.. but the deaths still were sad though. And if you wanna take it a step further, esdeath freezes Tatsumi for some explained reason.. and akame and najenda go on with their lives like Night Raid never happened , Ive also heard that they left out some pretty important arcs as well

It may have not made sense, but does death ever make any sense at all? People can die at any moment, including you and I. This show plays off of the mortality and unpredictability of life and death.

Youre right. good point, I just thought of it in a way as the deaths didn't really mean anything, but now after hearing that I think your right.. Death waits for no man, and it's like you said. Death is unexpected and can happen at any moment

It's honestly one of the reasons I think so highly of the show when so many people seem to hate it.
I knew I was going to enjoy the rest of the show. Too often do shows feel like everything is going to be OK in the end, and this show made me want everything to be OK in the end instead of taking that for granted.

I understand what you mean, its not like the happy go lucky story you get where they defeat the bad guy and they all survive, noo they switch it up some, and most of the characters die defeating the bad guy. In that respect, I did like the story

I think the anime could have been extended and follow the manga a little more as I found the last two episodes a little rushed with many unexpected character deaths. I just think the manga could have been worked into it a little more. But other than that I thought the anime was great and the ending didn't confuse me too much.

Am i the only one that liked the ending an how the characters died in the show? They all died based on how they act and it wasn't a full on asspull ending like typical shounen shows etc. are. I don't get the hate for it when people keep hating on the cliche ending where everything ends up being ok because plot armor.

I'm gonna have to read the manga. Because I really wasn't satisfied with the rushed ending either.

A cheap shounen thrill fest. The manga is slightly better.

Was poop. Hope they remake it and stay true to the manga but doubt they will.

I do agree that you have to give credit for the show for that.

I also likes that there is no good or bad side in the show.

The deaths happened too frequently making it become predictable everyone would die losing all weight and tension in process. I have no issue with characters surviving or being killed off as long as the narrative is good and the frequent deaths hurt the narrative imo.
