The animal is still alive when you're enjoying its flesh.
Would you be down to try this controversial dish?

No, but that has more to do with me disliking seafood than the whole cruelty aspect.

I might try it. I don't know, seeing the fish still snapping at me is a little weird, though.

Disgusting.

I swear, Asians are the worst offenders when it comes to this kind of stuff. My friend, MadameNoir, sent me one of those Taboo videos on food, and these Asians eat all kinds of animals, from snakes to monkeys to turtles. It's not the type of animal that bothers me, it's the way they kill those animals.

They cut the snake's gall bladder while it's still alive. Couldn't watch the video after 5 minutes.

I hate snakes, but it doesn't deserve that kind of treatment.

What was that internet quote? "You can tell a man's nature by how he treats animals?" that is so true. So I always laugh when people come to me saying humans are above animals, b**** please, we're below animals, at least animals kill their prey before eating them.

If it is just fish, yes I would eat it. From what Ive been told, they cut the fish a certain way. Killing it but giving it involuntary movement. Like the "gasping for breath" movement the fish does.

Whoa, whoa there friend. Hold on.

First of all, please don't lump all asians into this category. It makes you sound incredibly ignorant. A majority of people prefer that their food is very much dead and not moving. Usually eating things that are still moving is for freshness, or a novelty thing, this isn't done on a regular basis. If you think this is cruel, honestly most of the meat you buy at the supermarket has gone through much, much worse. Most fish in Japan come straight from the sea whereas livestock live in horrible conditions and are mass produced on a much larger scale than ikizukuri. Go online and you'll see livestock workers torturing animals, hitting them, cutting them open while they scream, the list goes on and on.

I know that he's asian, that doesn't mean he should be doing it. It makes the rest of us look bad. =3=

Again, that's probably true in Asian countries... they don't have regulations or laws when it comes to farm animals (or any animals in general). Australia has banned Indonesia and many other countries from buying our sheep due to their cruel treatment of sheep.

And did you watch the video in the first post? The fish was still alive even though half of its body is gone... that is SICKening. I don't care if I sound ignorant, but why is it that it's mostly Asians that do these kinds of heartless things?

The fish is still alive? That's what I'd call animal torture, poor fish.

But to answer your question, I don't eat animals, so no.

I don't really like to eat fish and I also don't want to eat it while it's alive, so no. Sounds disturbing.
