Whoa, whoa there friend. Hold on.

First of all, please don't lump all asians into this category. It makes you sound incredibly ignorant.

funny part of all of that is he IS asian, i think it's cool for him to generalize ^.^

I know that he's asian, that doesn't mean he should be doing it. It makes the rest of us look bad. =3=

I'm Australian so.....AUSTRALIANS ARE RACIST PIGS

I actually agree though, you don't hear about this kinda stuff from the Western side... but in most of Asia they eat dogs (after putting them in punching bags to kill them), and some cultures in that same pacific region actually eat people (the smile :D) but to be fair some tribes in the Amazon do that too.

In the news they talk about Japan's "dolphin corale to kill and eat" event. Idk, when China/Japan and most southeast Asian countries practice these cruel and unusual animal eating practices, you have to wonder whether OP's comment "I swear Asians are the..." is so wrong? So let's say 80% of Asia does X, is his comment really wrong?

That's over the line for me. I'll eat animals no problem, but I would at least give them the dignity of being dead before I began eating them.

Never felt sympathy for a fish, and I don't intend on it any time soon. Sure I'd eat it.

I fish alot so it doesn't really bother me, since most of the time they are alive when I fillet them.

Nah...Honestly I could care less about a Fish's POSSIBLE suffering; Hope that doesn't make Me sound too Cruel. My turning It down has more to do with the aesthetics of the dish...To ME it just looks unseemly and unappetizing.

INSTEAD, Gmme some Nigiri-zushi with generous dabs of Gari on the side and lemme at it!

Life is too short to worry about too much. That said, while I might not order it I would eat it if it was in front of me for some reason.

I had odori when I went to see family and friends in Kobe after graduating high school in the winter of 97/98. It was just-prepared shrimp that twitched or "danced" as it were. I eat shrimp whole so i had the tail spasms going on in my mouth. It was a unique and awesome food experience.

I like how people think that this practice is inhumane compared to the way they eat, when there really isn't a cute way to slaughter or harvest animals. Shrink wrap works well as a distancing mechanism I suppose. There's a buzzfeed video where they send city foodies to a chicken farm to see how chickens are harvested. The foodies use defense mechanisms to steel themselves for the harvest, and then shit gets real, because reality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFW5gPlSJcE

I like vegetarians too, because they think root vegetables and fungi are not life forms to defend. No face, no shame.

Okay I know the fish in question are actually dead, I've done enough fishing and hunting in my life to know post death twitch when I see it. But still that whole set up just looks wrong, I prefer my food be sitting still when I eat it. I mean the whole ocd compulsion with so called freshness is getting out of hand. Next thing ya know we will actually be eating live animals, which is when I just might climb a clock tower with Cassandra in hand.

Why not, it'll be a new experience.
I've had a squid that was still changing colors before in Japan, that was nice.

idgaf about food morals, food is food and it'll be dead anyhow. Just because western culture doesn't like it, doesn't mean that it's automatically bad.
