Hmm... A bad ending... I came across rumours of one at the very least. Apparently, Rose of Versailles has an extremely sad, tear worthy, ending; to an otherwise very good anime. The fact that the
is something that I don't like. I mean, one, okay. But both of them? Well, at least it finishes it, huh?

Heh... Heh... I have something to throw at you here; I've heard rumors that The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is a backwards anime... As in instead of the episodes going 1-26 they are 26-1 to make it more interesting. I'm not entirely sure that this is true for Suzumiya, but I'm pretty sure. Why don't you try going back and watching it backwards, it might make more sense... Lol.

I kinda know that already... But it isn't really backwards, but more like scrambled.

Umm well you see the "supposed" or "real" ending of the show was so... boring... you just see them slacking off all day @_@ and follow kyon carry a heater of some sort... blah... I want a season 2 D:

There is a season 2 for the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, it's scheduled for, humm late this year? But it's coming so they might explain to all of us what on earth

So, would you recommend 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'? I'm hesitant on this one for some reason, probably because my mind places it with mainstreamers because of the fact that it's so popular.

Yes I do recommend it, despise being so popular; the plot, if confusing to some, it is actually interesting, I think it is all well done and the characters are bound to get just better.

Neon Genesis Evangelion!!! That ending drove me up the walls with confusion.

The secret to Evangelion is to not look too deeply for hidden meaning. That's looking for the emperor's new clothes.

The hidden meaning to Evangelion is the author sitting self-adimitted to a psychiatric hospital giggling to himself as he scribbles out the plot/narrative.

Sometimes a 'nothing is settled' ending is fine. Rocky 3 ends with Balboa and Creed happy rivals (almost an anime friendship) testing each other in the ring one more time. You never see who wins that final fight but you don't care.

Like wise there are some animes that work well in this regard. others do not. Sometimes an amibiquous ending leaves room for debate.

The ending of Noir for example has the same sort of 'did they die or didn't they' as the ending of butch cassidy and the sundance kid.

the most recent ending(s) that I hated were in Phatom: Requiem. I played the original game 'Phantom of the inferno' and managed to find all the endings. the game the fates of many characters are in your hands as a player. In the anime they pick and choose among those fates to make their own unique ending. that I, personally, found unsastifying. (Scyth master for example, should have died screaming like a girl when he realises he's not as smart as he thinks he is, Like he does in the game.)

My favorite anime ending was Samurai Champloo; it was a unique ending and seemed to me to be the logical thing to have happen. I can't really think of any bad or ugly endings. Most of the endings I don't like are because I want to see more of the show and it's over. The ending of Revolutionary Girl: Utena was interesting because before the episode ended I realized what the entire series meant. Suddenly I saw how tragic the series was and the funny episodes were most heart breaking of all.
