I'm pretty sure you can buy non-toxic dyes...

As long as it doesn't hurt the animal, I don't care how people show them off. I'm pretty sure a dog wouldn't be self-conscious if he was suddenly blue.

I never got it. It's not even a case of how the dog feels about it to me, it's how ridiculous it looks. I have a white dog and a brown dog, and they look adorable staying white and brown. Your dog doesn't need to look like the neon sign for a strip club for god's sake. At the end of the day it's the owner's choice, but regardless I feel it's silly and tacky, and detracts from the dog's cuteness rather than adding to it.

reminds me of the dog spudgy from the youtube channel EYK. its a white dog that they sometimes shave the sides of the dog and dye the top so it has a blue mohawk. here a video of them getting it done www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KHddI6wa2M

its an old video so not sure if the dog is still blue

Obviously, don't use hair dye for humans on pets, there are a lot of things that can make even people really sick. However food coloring or vegetable based dyes are approved for use on dogs. No toxic chemicals needed.

Of course dogs look incredibly silly when they are colored, but people dress their kids in stupid outfits all the time as well so I guess there's no difference. As long as no one is harmed, let people do what they want to do. A dog won't care what color they are, they're mostly color blind anyways. In all these photos I see animals that are well cared for and loved enough for someone to dote upon them (albeit in a bit of an obnoxious way). No abuse here.

I'm generally neutral if there's a reason or a theme at all.
And only if they dyed their animals with koolaid or more natural chemicals.
The stuff I used to dye my hair with smelled and tasted like chlorine bananas
so I could imagine a cat or dog HATING that.

As long as the dog isn't being harmed or suffer there is absolutely no reason to oppose this.
The dog isn't going to care.

This actually bothers me less than outfits. Dogs have fur all over, so they don't need clothes like people. I see this as the same as dying hair, only dogs can't form an opinion unless they howl or bark whenever you try to attempt this. Then don't do it. Otherwise, I don't see how this is a big deal. It's weird, but kind of cool. I've seen a very light pink poodle before, I thought it was pretty. I mean, no loving pet owner would do this if the dyes were toxic.

Most hilarious thing I've seen so far in this forum. Too bad the other is mustard lol The city where I'm at in college has an annual Oktoberfest and there's a weiner dog race and they're usually dressed up. I'm pretty sure someone had one of their's dressed up like this xD
