Which do you prefer: Nendoroids or Figmas? Why?

I prefer Nendoroids over Figmas. Of course Figmas are better in a lot of ways(like the fact that they are normal size, and have more accessories), but Nendoroids are about 10x cuter. That's not the only reason, obviously. Nendoroids are easier to collect, because they're smaller, and there is a wider variety of characters to choose from. That's really the main reason.

It's hard to say for sure my favorite, because I really do like Figmas. I will only get one though, if it's a character I really like. For example, whenever there's a new Vocaloid figma, I'll want it. Of course that goes for Nendos, too, but Figmas are different. Sometimes you want an actual normal figure of a specific character. After all, they do have more accessories, and I like poses over facial expression. Figmas are really for posing, and Nendoroids are more for a cute face.

Which do you prefer?

I prefer Figmas because they're to scale and fully posable. Nendoroids I find look the same after a while for the most part and you can't really pose them or keep one behind another while still seeing both (unless you have some sort of stands for them specifically like the ones that are coming extra if you order the Love Live girls off GSC's global shop). With my largeish collection it's nicer to have slice of life girls sitting on the edge of shelves like I have all my Hidamari Sketch girls, instead of trying to find a spot for yet another Nendo base.

That being said of course I collect both, but I have almost twice as many Figma as I have Nendoroid.

To give you photo proof of the superiority of Figma placement -

my boyfriend has figmas but he never takes them out of the box lmao so i don't know what they're like to play with them. though figmas can look really weird on certain characters (like makoto from free!) but i prefer nendoroids though because they're so much more fun to play it!

maybe once i get a figma of my own to open up and give it a proper look-see, i'll change my mind (maybe not)

Make sure he takes them out of the box at least every so often. The combination of chemicals from the paint and from the pvc can leave a sticky residue on them that even if you're able to clean off after a few soap baths, the figures still end up being shiny in areas. It happened to me when I bought a couple pre-owned old Megahouse Precure figures. Their skin is all shiny now and it took me giving them baths once a week for MONTHS before the sticky residue finally cleared up.

Figmas since they are so posable. I see the appeal of nendroids though.

Nendoroids for many reasons.

1) They are cuter.
2) Generally speaking they are cheaper(especially when pre-ordered, I've routinely seen some Nendos go for under $30 when someone is doing a discount on their pre-order).
3) I haven't had any bad experiences with Nendos in regards to getting them to stay together(My Megurine Luka Figma refuses to stay together).

If you're having issues with your Luka staying together, odds are you probably have a bootleg of it. It's one of the earlier figmas so instead of having issues keeping it together, you should be having more problems getting pieces to pull apart. The first few figma were really difficult to work with as far as joints went because it was still so early in the production of them that Max Factory still had a lot to straighten out.
